Maybe they don't allow classic policies to people with points on their license

Most insurance companies seem to be of the mindset that 3 points is largely irrelevant - certainly, that's what Classicline said when I advised them of mine.

Footman James are, for me, absolutely useless!

Give Graham Sykes a call. They had hands down the best price for my Zed, but be prepared to wait a day or so for them to come back to you with a quote.

01395 255100 or check 'em out online.

:thumbup1:

I'm currently looking at mine. I'm 26, fair few mods but nothing drastic, 4000 miles a year, value only £4000 on this car. 1 years NCB on this car and 7 on my daily. So far:

Adrian flux: £570 renewal

Graham Sykes: £1000

Sky: £500 - so I advise you give them a call!

Lancaster: £670

Still waiting to hear from Classic line

Might also try carol nash, not sure if they deal with modified's that much though

Just goes to show how stupid the whole thing is, why is Graham Sykes so good for Mondo but a rip-off for me?!?

Ha if you say so :tt2: I just find it odd that regardless of the actual price, they're the cheapest for you but not the cheapest for me. Makes you wonder how they all stay in business, clearly at least one of them is doing their sums wrong!

Graham Sykes - £1000

Rang classic line to double check the details found 2 mistak cars garaged not parked on public road also car not had engine change reqouted price gone up to £575

I wonder if your postcode is rated highly.

Things like crash for cash and personal injury claims costs have really affected some post codes.

Nope it's not a high risk area I thinks brexit might sum thing to do with it lol back in Feb every one offers insurace for less than £300 the same companies decline or doubling there price

It's interesting you have been declined from PerformanceDirect when i am with them and have been for 5 of the 6 years i have had the car.

Only today i got my renewal and with 12 mods declared it was only £193 - i am not even going to try and find a cheaper one elsewhere.

I know you can get a quote online with them and fyi i have a SP50 but this 'dies' in October.

I found that question being asked a lot as well. For example, when I mentioned the new exhaust system, most companies asked if it was purely cosmetic or cosmetic and performance-enhancing.

They then went on to ask what the new BHP figure was for the car, so all I could do was estimate things.

I understand why they ask the more in-depth questions, but I wasn't expecting them and so probably sounded like a bit of a muppet every time they asked and I just replied with "Errrrm.....!!"

Some ask me, some don't. Some want percentage increase, some just current figure. My answer is just a guess though, never had it on a rolling road! None have declined me so far though

Give bewiser a call. But state classic and add limited mileage. I pay approx 257 with rac cover and only 50 pounds compulsory and no voluntary excess
