thinking of buying a bov, which sounds the best?

from what i've heard.....HKS SSQV BOVs are the best on both autos and manuals in terms of sound

I think the,

 

 

"Ffffffssssshhhhhhhh!" Noise is the best.

 

Or even

 

"Kkkkkkssssssshhhhhhh!"

 

or

 

"Pkkkishhhh"

 

Dont go for the

 

"Honk!"

Nothing wrong with the "honk".

I have that on my car. It's not easy getting your car to "goosehonk" it take a specalist touch. LOL

Fat Tony was looking at some BOV's or Dump Values from a company (can't remember their name). I think it worked out less than £300 the pair (fitted). Blitz are very good but Marc was telling me that these are £275 each without fitting.

I have a small vid clip of MAC1's car pulling off with the BOV's on his if you want to listen.

Seem to remember FT was looking at the TurboXS BOV's..

I know Vinz has the Turbo XS valves and they sound great.

Yep, if you contact Bailey Motorsport they will put you in contact with a company that supply and fit Bailey BOVs and fitting kits. These go in place of the recircs NOT on the hard pipes. I was quoted 275 fitted. But i went for Turbo XS recircs in the end because I didnt fancy sneezing down the road all the time. :p

No probs, yes they do do go in place of the standard ones, they were 300 quid including fitting kits and postage from Impossible Performance, but take note there delivery times are crap!

Do you think it's a standard problem with the Nissan Recircs?

Because I changed them with another set(secondhand)and after about 30mins the noise returned!

I've got an aftermarket filter on mine(was on the car when I bought it) some people have said that's what causes it.But I spoke to Stuart at the Slough meet and he said he gets the noise as well,but has stock airfilter!

FT, they basically wear out, the spring weakens over time, (if you up the boost) a very small period of time! The stock airbox hides this noise, so when you fit your nice new one you can hear it!

 

Turbo XS are rated upto 40psi so no probs there then.

Yeah Stuart sent me the vid last night.

Sounds great. He also sent me the vid of the motor show.

I tell ya , this kids got tallent when it comes to making videos.
