Hi all.. I'm starting this thread to find out who is likely to be attending the JAE this year.

After the news that we have 4 pitches booked on the site for the weekend, I would like to see how many people are going to jae and who is interested in camping for the weekend etc with a view to getting something organised for everyone.

I have a four stroke generator available for power supplies and should be able to get a barbecue together for food.

Maybe even sort out some music or even karaoke if anyone out there would enjoy it?

The main aim here is to find out who is planning on attending and how many of us there will be for the weekend.

So, if you plan on going or would like to go, please let me know here.

If we can get a few of us together then between us we can make it a good weekend..

So get your name down.. Party time!

Tempted but it's a long way, will have to decide nearer to the time. Could you put up the dates and location?

You're only in Croydon Alic?? Newark is only an hour from me and you're about the same.. Camp the weekend and make it worth the trip?

It isn't mandatory Jeff lol..

It is just something else I have equipment for that some might enjoy..

3 hour drive because the M25 is balls, but at least i get a bit of tunnel :punk:

It's all well and good you doing this Paul and i applaud you but it does not disguise the fact it's still exactly the same expensive price to get in as it was when we decided to knock it on the head some months ago .

And now you need to remember that even though there is a plot to camp on, there is no power or marque for night time.

Paul is already onto you mate

This. ^^^^ unfortunately.

If you go for the whole weekend, from Thursday, and you are not taking your family, then it's fairly good value for 3 nights camping with entertainment.

But when you go just for the day, and you can only get Saturday day tickets this year, it gets more expensive, especially as a couple/family.

You can go Sunday for free, and watch everyone pack up though.

In addition, going as a family for me is out, as there is no way I can take my son out of school for 2 days to go to a car show.

As well as having to book my own holiday time off as well.

So I can turn up friday night, miss 2 days entertainment, and pay the same.

For the younger owners, with no real commitments, bringing themselves and some mates, like I and many others used to do when it was at Billing Aquadrome back in the 90's and 00's, then all well and good, but it just doesn't have that same appeal after 20 years.

My main reason for going is to meet up with other members, some who I may not have seen for a while, but for all the reasons above, it's hard to justify for me.

But I 100% applaud your wanting to turn it around Paul,, and I hope there are some members that feel they might want to give it another go for you.

Actually, maybe it's also the camping that doesn't interest me so much any more either....

Reading into this some more unfortunately means I'm almost certainly not going. I will have to miss days off school, and the high entrance prices means that despite how good the club atmosphere may be, I really cannot justify it :(

Sorry Paul, maybe another year.

According to the website there is only one ticket... £45 ????

I dont see any one day options

the option is there, but no prices yet. i am sure i saw it discussed on their facebook a while ago.

it is mentioned in the faq as well, so i guess they are encouraging people to get weekend tickets, before they decide on day pricing.

Well, it looks like this will be a roaring success then doesn't it!

I'm not one to give up easy, but even I have the sense to know that banging your head on a brick wall is eventually gonna give you a nose bleed!

Tunnel? If you're going via Dartford it will be a long way! Heathrow direction from Croydon is the way mate.. Do it in half the time.

The numbers have been dwindling for a while, hence the poll about whether to attend this year, and the mixup on plots.

There are always a small dedicated group of people that do attend, and it will be good to see if they will be going again this year.

It might also be worth approaching Adam who organised Japfest, to see if they want to share the space as before.

This is what I went by, but by any means it is very unlikely I will be going, unrelated to journey times.

This is why it was pulled this year. The one day events are gaining in popularity I think. NEC aside, they've always been my own preference.

The issues are that there are a large number of people who have absolutely no interest in JAE (myself included) and the pricing have put the remainder off.

Keep at it though, it might be worth getting a joint-club plot with zclub or the 350 guys as you'll be less limited.
