Hi all

Looking for any advice on Insurance companies. I have tried a few but none so far want to insure a modified 300zx TT.

Please can you let me know who you are using ? I couldn't find a sticky in the forum anywhere.

Thx

Gaz 300 is the man to ask regarding Z garages in Northern Ireland mate, I'm sure he'll be along shortly:thumbup1:

I got my timing kit fitted at SNJ Motors at Crossgar Neil there has worked on a few zx's so knows them well.
thanks for that Gaz , looking at one that needs it.
How come these guys insure Ferrari's and Lambo's?

I guess the Ferraris and Lambos are built and designed to handle that power, arguably the Z32 wasn't. I know you could demonstrate supporting mods such as brake and suspension upgrades in an attempt to counter that argument but it's still an extra liability for them.

In 99% of the quotes I've had for insurance, when declaring every single mod or aftermarket part, no matter how small, the final premium is unaffected. The BHP generated is where the premium starts to vary. I would assume that if you state you have a basic filter and exhaust setup, the underwriters are experienced enough to know roughly how much power you have gained, so they won't bother asking. However, when you start talking about mods that could produce larger, varied amounts of power, they would then need to ask what power the car produces.
