Does anybody else get hit on the head then squashed by the hatch whenever they get something from the boot. Is there any stronger struts availble for the zed or is it a trip to nissan for some new ones.

Get a fibrefglass replacement spoiler ;) You won't believe the weight of the OEM item! I did mine and now you have to pull the boot down quite hard...

I dont have a problem and i am nearly 6ft4 :)

 

Sounds like the struct/brace things (good terminology here) have gone. I have never had it come/fall down.

 

I can always remember the first time i tried to lift the boot lid - oh my god it was heavy - i was quite amazed. Then you look at the shear size of it and it makes sense - alot of glass. I dont want to be sexist but i would have thought the female sex (and weaker males :) ) might struggle a bit lifting the boot?? Or has mine switched for lead performance mod? :p

Im with Andy.

When I took my spoiler off to change it for a better condition one, I turned the key and the boot would fly open nearly taking your face off. If you can get a fibre glass one.

Where's nelson when you really need him? LOL This is a great way of saving mass :D I reckon you must save a good 10kg..

Ok guys...I know some of you have mentioned before about the replacement spoiler....where can I get one, and how much am I going to have to pay?

 

I used to be 6' 4"...I'm now down to 5' 9"...all because of THAT f**kin' lid comin' down on my head!!!

I have held just the OEM spoiler in my hands and sh1t it is heavy! you would not believe it! Can't believe they made it like it in the first place!

Got mine from Hiteq in wigan http://www.hiteq.co.uk but I'm sure most companys mentioned on here will be able to supply...
