Hey, looking to upgrade my intercooler system from standard as I'm going to start pushing the bhp of my Z. Ive read that Sidemounts inter cooler are probably the best for me to go for. Anyone got suggestions/ anyone selling anything?

I got the all singing all dancing ones off CZP, with the 2.5 inch intake kit. I was concerned about "pressure drop" or whatever, something I had heard mentioned on forums but didn't really understand. Other than it sort of made sense that a massive intercooler needs "pumping up" before boost hits your throttle bodies.

 

Well, all I can say is that despite their bigger size, response is better, definitely quicker throttle response, more power/tq and it solved a heat soak I felt I was experiencing on sunny blasts.

Seems an expensive unit! Is it worth it? Are the any alternatives you know of?

I wanted the 2.5 inch intake setup, I was ordering bits from czp anyway. It was expensive, but its not like they wear out. If the rest of the car dissolved I could take them off and sell them for a decent amount.

 

It definitely got colder and faster haha :lol:

Im looking for something to support a remap to roughly 450bhp, after speaking with Noz, an intercooler upgrade was a must :)
