Ali should be along presently... ;)

Thanks for the cue...

Yeah I have timetabled days with some free periods so I check the forum, because everything else is blocked D:

Not during lessons though...

Bloody hell.......... I work at a primary school and schedule my online visits between tea breaks........ lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

But that's a primary school. Quite different.

If you want an example, I have 7 periods in a day, and an average of 1 free a day. So 40 mins to do set work or just chill and go online.

Yep, sounds like my work to me...... I have only 5 periods in a day...... Unlike my apprentice who has a period every time he's asked to work!

The before work period (getting out of bed, showering, breakfast and drive carefully to work)

The Morning period (get to work, unlock the school, say hello to the teachers as they shuffle to their classes, check emails and file invoices)

The lunch period (Eat lunch, have a cup of tea, make part for the Z, Read Banzai and dribble over TED, check out forum posts)

The afternoon period (refill hand towels, soap dispensers, toilet rolls, mend things, order things, lock up site, drive home)

The evening period (Eat dinner, play with the kids, sit on the computer till wife goes to sleep watching TV, go to bed so I don't have to hear her snore anymore)

I think I need more periods........ One for rest, one for car repairs and one for TV........

My wife just sticks to one big period......... from one year to the next!!!!

Not many school age owners over here bud. Firstly you can't learn to drive till your 17 and then the first few years of driving the insurance is so expensive that most can only afford very slow cheap cars. To insure a 300zx at 17 would cost you more than it's worth, possibly subtle it's worth depending on your neighbourhood. So most have to wait till they are 21-25 to make it affordable. There's not many that are prepared to just stare at it till they can drive it

I'm sure at least someone will agree with me here but half of the fun in owning a Z is not driving it. It's modifying and enjoying the scene so that's what I'm enjoying doing ATM.

Yes the insurance is ~£5k when

You're 17 so I'm just going to wait until late 18 to even think about it where the insurance drops to ~£1.5-2k

Well I'm 14 and I bought my first car a slicktop 300zx 2-3 weeks ago and it's a fixer for sure not major but a few hundred dollars here and there but by the time I'm 16-17 my insurance will be maybe $300 a year In Canada we have this thing called collectors plates where if a car is older then like 25 you get super cheap insurance but you can only put 5k km on it per year

We have classic insurance too, that £5k quote is with classic, otherwise it would be more like 8 or something...

To an extent I do agree with you. But honestly driving it is the whole point. Having a car you cannot drive is like if you had impotence. It's seriously frustrating. The hours I spend working on my car are ok, I enjoy a tinker but there's a means to it. The driving.

So nows the time to buy zed stuff in Canada in £'s ey?

Working in an office, I must visit this site hundreds of times a day. It's more habit than anything!

We've got classic car insurance here too, but generally you need to be 25 or older. :(

Well I can't really comment on the feeling of driving it, I learnt to drive off road in a 4x4 so I can't really compare anything to it.

I'm actually looking to get a corolla gxi for my 'first' actually third car to enjoy driving. Anyone know about them?, they are fairly uncommon but there is one sorn along my bus route and to me it looks like a 90s Subaru/toyota hatchback and I fancy it alot...

They are bulletproof but the last time I seen one of them it was being driven by my grandad in 1995

Lol, I only found out about them by seeing it and saying, wow that looks very JDM, I like it. Noted down the number plate and searched it up on the dvla. I could only see one for sale in the UK so I think it's rarer than I initially thought.

Scrap yards are full of them. Knock on the door and offer him £100 for it!!

Something like that :)

Then put an mr2 engine in it

Tbh I don't really care what engine is in it, just make sure it's cheap enough to insure and parts dont cost too much.

I'm thinking either the corolla gxi: (yes i took this picture on the bus)

A honda prelude:

Or a 99 civic/ek9: (probably not the type r though)

Can you insure any of those cars cheaply? I couldn't, even now!

EK9 is the Type R also.
