My Z has just lost auto transmission drive!

With lots of ATF on the drive!

Looks like the fluid is is spilling from front Right of engine/radiator looking at Z from the front!

Highcas light came on too!

Is there a pipe there?

How much do I need to strip out?

Is it better to go from under the car taking the bottom shroud off?

It's not the pump or any pipes from the AT power steering side.

Any thoughts, ideas, technical/mechanical knowledge please.

Before I start getting to work!

Oh dear Art, if the transmission can't change gears and is leaking fluids then that would flag for me transmission fluid, but I wouldn't know about the HICAS. Someone will tell you.

Hopefully it is just a pipe and not a leak in the bell housing or something :)

There is a oil cooler for the gearbox as part of the radiator I believe, so could be rust or stone damage in that area

Not the gearbox/bell housing Alic as its too far forward of that.

Thanks pig that's what I think so need some diagrams I think!

So to the z manual for diagrams & possible parts!

Yup there's a pair of pipes that run from the box to radiator, drivers side IIRC you will see two hoses about 12mm in diameter looping through the rad. I had one pop off and I lost all the fluid and subsequently drive. I was in the middle of the forest at the time as well really not very helpful. Had to pay the RAC guy for 5L of ATF and limp home.

The AT and PS/Hicas are completely separate mate, they use the same type of fluid but the circuits are separate. Get the car jacked up nice and high, clean what you can then refill and observe. Sounds like your leaking both? Have you hit something?

Not hit anything! But been down some rough roads today as the place is in the country.

Got home & had to rev engine high to get onto drive with a/t fluid all over the drive!
