Boost Gauge

I have a problem with the boost gauge on my imported tt auto

Car is still limited and some joker stuck a 120mph sticker over the original 180kph dial. Looks as if they did something to the boost gauge at the same time. When the ignition is primed and showing the warning lights, the gauge jumps to exactly halfway between 0 and +7. When the engine is runninf the gauge reads just over the marker halfway between -7 and 0.

When I`m driving the car, just maintaining the speed at a constant 65-70 using cruise puts the gauge at 0. I think this must be wrong but have no frame of reference. How hard to you accelerate before your gauge reads 0? I`ve used kisckdown once or twice but the gauge is way over +7 before I get anywhere near kickdown.

Can any of you give me an idea of accelerator travel to boost ratio (if there is one)..exactly how screwed up does my boost gauge sound to ya?
