I'm thinking about having a bespoke system made for the Zed in the not too distant future, from the turbos back. :)

What's the popular opinion (and pros and cons) regarding a full 2.5" system, or a full 3" system...?

I'm of the opinion (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that a 3" system will give better flow and power, I think it may depend on what engine mods you have, I had an APS 3" turbo back system on my Evo 8 and it gave a proven 30bhp extra! Cost £1200 at the time!! My Abflug is a 3" cat back and I've the Japspeed 2.5" downpipe and centre section, I'm contemplating getting those pieces swapped out for 3" also (funds permitting):thumbup1:

I think someone here got a custom 3" exhaust from Infinity exhausts, they're based near Jimmer (Powerzed) and look to be built to a very high standard:thumbup1:

That would have been Kaza Steve and yes, Infinity Exhausts in Bristol - very good quality.

Have a read of this post by Greg@SZ. Amongst other things he covers exhaust sizes:

3" exhaust is generally louder (depending on the muffler) if you can stand the extra noise. Mine sounds really nice at first but gets droney after a while on the motorway :D

Thanks for posting that, Andrew. Having read it, it seems to me that the suggestion is that 3" pipework from the turbo to the H-pipe with a 2.5" system after that is the best compromise between noise and performance.

Not something I'd previously considered.

Where you getting it done at?

I can highly recommend AAS in Newcastle.

Are they on Scotswood Road, Al? If it's where I'm thinking of, they did some work on my old Celica SS-III and I couldn't fault them :)
