where is the best place to buy a dual air filter? will they work with standard chip?

Smithy at Cybercraft do a dual pop. You dont need any change in chip for it to work, but the dual ones are only needed for when you push out huge power, like over 500bhp.

unless you are talking about the JWT type dual pop charger, designed to have 1 cone per bank, the afm is relocated on 1 side of the engine & the chip then has to be reprogrammed to suit.

A proper duel pop is actually an airfileter per side of the engine.

Ie two airflow meters or a remap to the ECU.

what it does is double the potential ammount of air you could flow, but like Stuart says only worth doing when you approach 500 on the wheels.

True but the dual pop should really have a MAS on both sides which needs a little wireing and money spent on another MAS.

What Smithy offers is 2 filters with a Y connector, which can help but not as much as you would think

Call me sceptical, but if you've got a dual cone setup on a Y-connector (i.e., still using just the one AFM), how are you going to get more air to pass through the pipe? Surely more air flow through the AFM is what you're trying to achieve here. Unless you use what the Yanks have on their Camaro's and Firebirds - RamAir - which forces more air through by means of a suction device.

Just wandering ...

well that is the problem danny, the dual cone in front of the afm will flow more air than a single cone, but the afm is the limiting factor after that.

I have the JWT duel intake. It makes a big difference (IMO) and works fine with one MAF and JWT chip update. If you had two going through one T-piece it couldn't possibably have the same effect, although I'm sure it makes some kind of difference? JWT also gives you the drivability upgrade, which means the revs are stable and smooth at low revs.

I assume you already have a larger exhaust and if you've upped the boost you MUST have 555cc (or more) injectors or your asking for the engine to blow. (And chip update for that).

You could, if you want, wire up two MAFs, I don't see the need. If you do this you'll need something like an Apexi AFC to map the dual MAFs into one reading for the ECU.
