Got a mate thats looking in to importing something nice I was wondering if someone on here could recommend a reputable auction site and any information that he will need to know that isn't generally available by just googling I know there are plent of people on here that have done it before and prob still are so any information would be great cheers in advance.

I'm considering buying a bit of an investment while I'm living out east with the intention of bringing it back with me :yes:

I had enquiried about shipping to new zeland and it was £1800 for the container shipment..

My brother has been in Hong Kong a while now and we have not found anything worth the hassle, prices are very strong for classics and the law is very strict with regard to import \ export.

From what I can see at the moment the Nsx market is very much on the up in the uk, there are a few around here going for OK money. Plus I've always really wanted one. On the downside I just found out a parking space is around £400 a month in my apartment building so I might be reconsidering my plan.

There are other pitfalls unfortunately I'm afraid, some lovely low mileage classics but they do know there prices. The tax is high as well as parking as you have found out, if we did find a car the owner being local, would have to do all the paperwork and export for you and not being able to read the documents would be a real worry for us.

That an offer for some private tuition there i'm not covering your fuel costs, but i will throw in a set of skis to get yourself home :), Cheers i will have a look I did find a few company s willing to ship via container size not what was in it so if you got two small hot hatches and a load of performance mods make it worth your while. I had a quote japan to Liver;pool for about a grand I think it was unsure of shipping rep though i will check out mentioned, Also does anyone know do the 300zx wheels fit on an FTO?..

Gazwoz on here also imports cars quite regularly. I'm pretty sure he's the kind that you give him a budget and he will go and find cars for you. either way he has imported some beauties recently.

If so you do not have to be an import agent?

 

When your car arrives in uk & is cleared, provided you book it in for an MOT you can drive it without plates!

Also you can book an MOT with your engine no! But most garages do not no this as your car has no reg No!

Its a friend who dosn't have the time nor is good with the internet who wants something nice he hasn't decided on car yet he's thinking silvia or skyline up to him anyway but i have said i would do all the leg work and I'm quite interested to be honest to see how the whole process works I did have little nosy about import agent. I see they add on around 600-1200 deoending on car etc so if I could save him this then obviously i would get something out of it, which site company did you use to get your car over here, and thats handy to know about the booking car for mot with engine number this i was not aware of so thank you ;).

Tradecarview.com deal with jap cars, there a bit like a jap autotrader.

They charge approx £50 for their service.

They act as your agent.

Basically, choose a car, contact them (tradecarview) they inturn contact the seller.

All ur transactions go through them, they make sure u have a car! Ur payment is also safe through them too!

The seller sends them the shipping details. My Z was sent with Hoegh auto liners.

When it's on board contact an UK import agent. I used Wainwright Bros.

Coppers haven't got who broke in just recovered a few things but nothing of big value so insurance dragging heels I would defo be interested in you having word with your mate I love old American muscle cars Plymouth Pontiac mustangs just to name a few my sisters after a Saturn for some reason her husbands from California he used to have a huge truck he wanted to take over but fuel mpg be mad not sure what it was but think was a 8.0 would it be I'm not sure was nuts anyway looked like a monster truck compared with our pick ups what's that in the pic dodge gmc ?..
