hi, i had a search but couldnt find anything similar,

nice cold frost morning, key wont go in lock, some hot water sorted that out, anyway i gets car started and de iced wingscreen, car was idling for about 5 minutes no prob, pulls off down street everything seems ok, 2 minutes later at a junction im waiting in traffic 30 seconds maybe, then light change i pull right on to main road with a little gas just as car is leveling up on to main road it dies, this was while in D and a touch of gas, all lights come on dash, i have to switch off reset imobiliser car restarts no prob and i drive off. hmm i thought maybe its just cold. so on the way home i takes the long way home :D and get car up to normal temp everything seems fine. pulling onto estate then turning left with gas on car stalls again, but restarts first time and gets me home in one if somewhat puzzled piece. anyone got any ideas, thanks

Check to see if you have any ecu error codes. If you get a code 21 it's your power transistor.

Did it happen when you was slowing down for a juction? Did it stall when you put the clutch in?

If so clean and reset the Throttle position sensor.

it happened with just slight gas on and turning a corner both times similar speed and turning, its an auto btw

ptu is an ignition amplifier, a common fault i believe, and mine did much the same thing before i replaced the ptu two weeks ago, took mine to north east nissan they put me on machine and diagnosed it instantly, cost 23 quid for diagnosis, i then got one off here (cheers andy z) cost me 130 quid in total, but i would advise u get it on machine soon as, im told they inflate and thats what knacks them, mine is fine now

ok had a look on the tech site, my mate works at nissan dealer and says he can get it on the consult jobbie, will this show a fault, ie does the ecu record previous error codes like some mazdas do. also will the later ptu fit straight in place of the old style

just picked me car up from main dealers after having a consult daignosis, and the only fault they could find was that the coolant tempreature sensor didnt seem to be working, it basically didnt change when car was given some stick, just read a constant 70 degrees or so and they couldnt get the fan to kick in, me mate showed me the switch on the alloy pipe thing at the front of the engine and it did seem in a sorry state, so he basically said the fueling would be wrong cos the ecu thinks the engine is cold even tho its not, he recommended a new switch and connector, are the uk and j spec coolant temp sensors the same.

Yes they are
