Well Mr T and I actually made it to Grasshopper before everyone had gone!!:D I'd just to to say a massive 'Good Luck' to everyone there. The premises are fantastic and there aren't many companies that would put food on for everyone. As for those that work there, what is there to say but they're just the best, and I'm sure everyone else on here wishes them the greatest future. The biggest Good Luck goes to Laura, she's going to need it working with that bunch;)

Anyone get any pics??? Great day.........

Unfortunatly I had to leave before you got there (about 1:40pm ish for another meet only to be phoned on the M6 about 30 miles from GPS to be told that it had finished early!!!!!!!) so missed you two. Hope to see you soon at another meet.

Ivan

Shame I couldn't make it - I had an um.. better offer..

Anyway best of luck to GPS - though I'm sure they don't need luck really.. :)

Ivan, I can't believe we missed you......... we arrived before it was dark and closing time so therefore we win the prize of getting to meet everybody:D Bugger, obviously we still need to just quite honestly GET UP EARLIER!!!!!!!;)

I hope it goes well for GPS, but I hope its customer service gets better too.

Any reason why it finished early? I heard that people where only going for 12 12:30ish.

Stuart

Mr T, get up early - don't make me laugh !!!!

Even when he stayed at my gaff and I made him go to bed early (before 2am) he still didn't surface until about midday !!! LOL :D

Excuse me...... but the other morning he was up at 8.30 am!!!!!! Or should I say he was STILL up at that time, and then proceeded to go to bed, so I suppose that doesnt really count......:D :D

Nice Blitz goodies on show, fitted to a Skyline I left for dead:D:D:D

The green monster awaiting over 600rwhp:eek:

Full Tomei gear also going in this baby.

Of course you left it for dead its in bits. :D

Wish I could have been there. :(

Any more pics?

It didn't finish early, Dark Warrior was saying the other meet he went to finished early I think.

I had a top day with the usual nutters.

Nice to meet Ajay and Emero but I hear they had a nasty time on the way home.

Good luck with the repairs :(

There were some nice cars there and quite a few Z's.

Look forward to seeing lots of pics.

My Z made it to it's first meet in about 18 months LOL

Fool:D It was my mighty Stillen Beast that killed it;)

Good to see everyone, and their Z's too. Chris, yours is looking great m8!

All the best Johnny & Latz, I'm sure the 'new and improved' GPS will be a big success.

Dave :)

I was lucky enough to be taken out in Iains car this afternoon and what can I say? Jesus it's quick.

After requiring a pit stop in a layby on the East Lancs dual carriage for an underwear change Big Boy let me take the controls...I was scared to say the least!

I couldn't get the seat to go forward, motor was working but something was jamming it. So I was not in the best driving position. However, with Macca saying "Floor it then!" I did the best I could and managed to get the loud pedal down about 3/4ers and fcuk me sideways...welcome to speed as we don't know it!!! LMFAO :D

All I can say is that I've been in AndyP's motor and he's running higher boost and to be fair his car is quick but this was not quite the same.

I swear that if you were in a manual Z and in the time it took you to drop to third or fourth to make it go banzai and floor it this auto would be in the distance, in front of you (ask Latz and Johnny) I was well impressed.

Oh and by the way, that was with the overdrive ON!!! ROFL :D

God knows what it does with that turned off, I hate to think.

Brakes are awesome aswell, my Stillen kit is an improvement over stock but those huge discs and kevlar pads with the R34 Brembos really are sharp and powerful.

You hit that brake pedal too hard and you get to feel what it's like when a fly hits yer windscreen except you've got a steering to get through before your brains splatter on the windscreen. :D :D

Cheers mate for making me realise what I am missing in performance on my car, might look like yours but mine's not quite there yet in terms of blistering performance! ;)

steamy windows - ar5e. Standard black UK Manual - cruise control inop, heater temp all over place, hesitation, leaky targa, spongy brakes, strange booming noise, faulty temp guage, high tick over, niosy wheel bearing, rear fog inop, rear screen de-fogger inop, water ingress in the footwells 4 th & 5th gears crunching, heater flaps not working correctly - BUT I STILL LOVE IT

Steamy windows? Heater Matrix mate, you mentioned water in the footwells. Two things, either the Matrix is on its way out as that is exactly what happened to me. Also check the air con drain pipe which should...should be protruding through the bulkhead wall on the passenger side. You'd need to get the kick panel off from the passenger side where the ECU is, reach up to the bulkhead and make sure that the rubber hose is defo pushed through the small hole in the bulkhead.

Trust me, I know on two counts. One is that I've had a heater matrix go on me and it ain't too funky when it dumps hot coolant all over yer feet! It was leaking into the passenger side before it did that dirty deed by the way. ;)

It maybe easier to check the air con drain hose by taking the passenger side wheel off and taking the wheel arch liners off as that is where I stuck my Vibe woofer power cable through and wondered "Hey, what's this rubber hose for?" then Vijay helped me out.

Cruise? What are your brakes like? Pads I mean?

I had that on my Supra, it turned out to be low brake pads and there is a kill switch on the brake pedal. If the pads are low this can cause the pedal to sit lower down in the travel. Just a thought.

Temp gauge? Bin it mate, get an aftermarket jobby as they are much more reliable. Is it erratic in readings etc. I had that with my oil pressure sensor and when it was replaced it sorted itself out.

Wheel bearing? Get it checked out and sorted asap mate if that's the problem. If it seizes you will be stuffed!!!

I had one going on my Kirk (Merc) a while back, took it to ATS. They put it up on a ramp and rotated the wheel and then put a thumb or finger on the shock housing. You can feel the vibration which tells you that's the problem. Cheap to fix but don't leave it mate if that's what you think it is.

High Tick Over? Clean the throttle bodies with carb cleaner, not too difficult to do but have a look on http://www.twinturbo.net for the procedure if you're unsure.

Disconnect the battery while you're doing this as that resets the ECU, need to leave the battery off for at least 30 mins. ECU will have to relearn the air flow readings from the Air Flow Meter etc. and may run high RPM for a while but will sort itself out eventually.

4th and 5th crunching sounds like most Z manuals that I've heard of! LMFAO :D

Check yer fuses mate for the demister problems etc. Fuse box in the engine bay on the passenger side and also in the footwell on the drivers side. Drivers side one is a pig to get into. Just awkward in where it is.

Hesitation could also be related to the throttle bodies being clogged with shite.

None of this is gonna defo sort you out mate but just ideas and things that you can check for starters.

P.S. Spongy brakes! LMFAO :D Z brakes as standard, get some new discs, new pads and better calipers mate! ;)

Oh and performance fluid! ;)

P.S. Steamy windows, if yer car is doing a Tina Turner impression make sure that you don't have the air con on recirc. That will cause that everytime. Make sure you're draggin' fresh air in from outside dude.

Chris

Those traffic light quater miles on the way home have just about stripped what was left of my clutch to the bare bones now LOL

time to fit the 6 puck (when its not too cold :D )

Paul

LOL You should get an auto ;)

Until next years engine mods then I will need a manual...

What was saturday like?

Am sure Mr G Force will,he took loads.

I've taken a fair few pictures, so will post those up when I get home tonight. Didn't really feel like it by the time I rolled in from Grasshopper at half midnight this morning... :(

I'd like to add my best wishes to Grasshopper in their endeavours too. :)

It was good to meet some more people too. :) Mac1, ChrisC, Dark Warrior, John Dixon etc. :)

Thanks for the advise Timmy but have some answers for some of the probs:-

Latz told me that he thought the heater matrix was fubar. I have had the centre dash vents out and tried to feel water previously but to no avail but on the way home from GPS (120 miles) it lost 1 litre of warm coolant so I dont think it's the drain pipe.

I think that the cruise sontrol prob is the cruise switches behind the instruments need adjusting as I posted about this a while ago. I've checked all the pads and they seem fine.

Temp guage was probably something to do with the fact that my coolant was low as it was all in my passenger footwell!

JeffTT has had my car since Monday and is checking all these problems for me anyway. I have checked all the fuses in both boxes shotly after I bought it 6 weeks ago so all these are fine.

I've also already cleaned the throttle bodies with carb cleaner and loads of under-bonnet connectors and tps switch and re-set the ecu whilst I was doing this but didn't seem to make any difference.

I suspect the crunching gears will be the synchros wearing and I have just recieved the onwers manual I've had on order for an age so I know I havn't had it on re-circ always as it's normally on the screen option. And lastly the brakes are spongy if you don't pump the pedal a couple of times as I think there's an airlock in the system somewhere.

Thanks for suggesting some solutions anyway. I hope to see you at the next meet.

Cheers once again

Ivan

:D :D :D :D

Hope you get sorted soon.
