GuyZ,

Recently we have all been raving about 18's. I want, yes I do, mama!!!

However, I was looking at some of the sites that we have been posting last week and I stumbled on one site that quoted...wait for it...£645 for Bridge's S02's...I take it that is per tyre...WTF???

Are they seriously that much? Difference between 17's and 18's was immense. 17" tyres were about £400 and then the massive hike for 18's.

Am I reading this wrongly 'ere or are they really that much? Or was that for a set? Something tells me that was per tyre!

I am reallistically dreaming about the BlitZ alloys at some point but if I'm going to have to pay that much, more than what the alloy cost me, per tyre...F**k right off!

Opinions appreciated, and cheaper options/tyres etc.

Timmy 'The Tyre' Turbo,

If you are looking for cheap rubber mate I can help in 2 way;

1. I do a very nice line in used Condoms.

2. I have a friend that works for Royal Mail, He has lots of rubber bands knocking about (Group buy thread I think!)

If you want either of these, let me know wink.gif

Recently replaced my 17" 255 rears and for the best brands they are around £200 each. Strapped for cash so went for Fulda Extromos at £90 each. They won't last long anyway, reaching 10K would be a miracle!

Can't see 18's being that much...

I have just bought a set of , wait for it, 19`s. They are the muts nuts, but the tyres are a tad expensive, if you have to replace them it works out about £1k.

Two recomendations for good tyre prices :-

Micheldever and MJP.

I paid around 650 for a full set of P Zeros and SO2s where very close in price. This was from Headley Tyre Services in Headley (!).

P.S. Crap balancing though ...

Thanks for that all, now I can sleep more calmly and dream of 18" BlitZ alloys...comfort!

"Smiling again!"

I have 265/40 17 fulda extremos or the rear

235/45 17 fulda 3000s on the front

they are great tyres, really grippy, last well, and are well priced.

check out

http://www.tyres-online.co.uk/

they have some good reviews.

I've tried all sorts and brigees just ain't worth the cash.

Seeing as, as a Z driver you should be spending most of your time going sideways, whats the point in expensive rubber anyway.

stu

But if you go to the right place you can get Bridgestones for only a few squid more than Fuldas. I just paid £430 for a set of standard size S-02's.

Negat sideways with TC!
