Hi Groover!

Checked, no blown fuse!

Thanks for advise.

Got an Autobox from Andy300z!

Need help in Kent to fit it!

Art

Hi Art, fitting it isn't too bad.... Suck out fluid com the dipstick tube using vacuum pump, Remove the prop shaft, battery, starter, cooler hard lines disconnected, disconnect wiring harness connectors to box, disconnect the selector rod by removing clip and pin...

Undo the bottom cover plate that sits between the engine and the bell housing to access the bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel....

Then support the box with professional jack using 30cm square flat piece of mdf on top of jack, (so you don't damage the transmission oil pan), undo the bolts holding the torque converter to the flywheel by turning the bottom engine crank bolt with socket and ratchet to get the bolts holding the torque converter to be accessible, undo the rear transmission mount and engine mounts and take the weight of the transmission on the jack, slide the transmission backwards carefully balancing on jack... this needs at least 2 people to steady it and lower it out safely...

Before fitting the replacement transmission>>>>>>> Flush the oil cooler and hard lines with brake cleaner, remove the cooler and make sure ALL the crap is out!!!

Replacing it is harder.... You need to make sure the torque converter stays in place as it sits on splines with 2 locating slots in it to lock into the oil pump lugs...

lift transmission slowly and slide forward locating against engine and flywheel. (lots of small wiggles and height adjustments needed)....

Bolt up rear transmission mount, bolt up torque converter bolts by again turning crank by hand, fit engine to bell housing bolts, refit bottom cover, refit starter, refit prop shaft, refit selector pin and wiring, refit oil cooler lines, refit battery, refill with clean fluid....

Hope this helps..... I would give you a hand, but busy for the next few weeks as wife has badly damaged her back....

If I missed anything, I am sure someone will point it out..... lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

I am spending the winter slowly stripping my old transmission to pieces, labelling and photographing as I go....

I am going to attempt to rebuild it with new clutch packs, gaskets, etc.... going to be a mission as I have never rebuilt an auto box..... and doing loads of research now....

Hopefully one day I will know my arse from my elbow.... lol

Hi Rev,

Thank you for the advise.

Sorry it's waisted on me as I'm not that mechanically minded & not got the equipment.

Andy says he knows a mech in Kent so will contact him today.
