Turbos

Can those in the know offer a straightforward answer as to the best Turbos that I can Purchase to fit onto my standard Decat pipes, I want longevity, ease of fitment , and the ability to generate around 550 BHP. what I don't want is faffing around to make them fit , or high risk of failure due to bad workmanship.

Thanks

Your asking a lot there. If you want quality items then Chinese is out the question. If you want 4 bolt, ie to use with the downpours you have your restricted. As off the shelf kits your pretty much restricting yourself to JWT sport 500s or Z1 GT525. You could have a hybrid made using the stock housing that's different but off the shelf it's those pre existing kits. Once you exchange for a five bolt down pipe the options are much better.

To get 500+ out of those 4 bolt tubs though is a tall order, that will require significant supporting mods. Think, twin intake, 2.5" inter cooler piping etc etc and a custom tune...

Stephens correct, the 525s will do 500 plus and bolt up stock, youll need manifolds bigger ic pipework etc but it is possible. They are very capable turbos, ive fitted probably 10 sets and have ran mine at 480 for 8 yrs now.

No reason to stick with your current decat pipes if you place 550bhp as the number 1 priority though. I would be looking at a pair of GT2860R (non-GTX). Around 550bhp at 1.3-1.4 bar, with no one particular component under too much strain. A larger turbine housing at that power level is always preferable, which stipulates a 5-bolt configuration. No two ways about it, unfortunately.

I've not yet come across a hybrid based on the stock housings that will hit an easy 550+, other than the GT525s which punch well above their weight. The hybrids I've worked with closely would do around 500bhp, but with better spool than stock.
