Hi zedders...

Just been looking around the forum to burn a little time and found myself confused and lost...

Ive noticed the separate little branches of the club eg, London, south East, south West. Midlands etc..

Now I'm not sure which local branch of the club I fall in to?

I live in luton, Bedfordshire so can anyone tell me which area catchment I would fall in to?

It'd be nice to meet some local members and maybe plan some meetings etc..

So, where do I belong?

Featured Replies

Your definitely not in the southwest, or even the south really. I would class Luton as up North personally but I suppose in reality it's South East Midlands? It's out of the M25 so it's not really London.

As many as you're happy to travel to meets in :)

What he said.....

.....You're on the border of London and SE / Midlands / East Anglia - so just attend all those meets that might be within reasonable travelling distance:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Oh I was in the asylum before I owned a Z.. I thought once I'd escaped I might be able to hide amongst the normals, but i find myself in with the nutters again.. Feels like home I guess lol..

Anyways, by The sounds of it I've got my own little branch then? As an old Essex lad, I thought the London guys might accommodate but it looks like ive been shunned by the motherland.. Lmao..

Up north? Really? I'm 19 miles from Brent cross and only 9 miles from the m25.. I only class it as north when people call me duck.. Lol..

Well I guess I'm a floater then.. I shall drift between events within reach.. Well when I say drift, I don't mean I'll turn up sideways..

So are there any regular meetings for the surrounding areas?

I would class Luton as up North personally.

Bloody Hell, Really??

My sentiments exactly mick1 lol..

If you live on the south coast I guess everything is north but i still wouldn't class anything south of Leeds as "north" I'm not great with geography but I'm fairly certain that luton is not anywhere near the northern half of England, let alone of Britain..

I would think I'm actually south of the Midlands too..

I'm from Belfast so not great on the geography of UK but I would of said its on the outskirts of London.:)

Yes I believe luton is described as greater London.. I get London weighting in my wages as I apparently travel in to greater London.. Whatever the location is in geographical terms, I'll just find the closest venues and come along..

To my mind the north which begins with the midlands, starts at the m4. But then that's my southern mind, as the crow flies 5 miles more South and il be very wet!

Not to mention Luton Airport is often considered as another gateway to London.....

Think i can speak for all us Northerners................we certainly don't want him :whistling:.

That's very nice of you to say phutumsch.. Looks like I'll have to create a new cell of my own. Although I seem to spend most of my life in burton on trent nowdays, sitting waiting for a load to go back down the m1.

By the looks of it then I'm the only one that's in the Bermuda triangle of the club then..

Ah yes, London Luton airport.. Thanks for that Richard, I should have remembered that as I my transport office is just next to it! Lol..

I see your in Bucks so youre in the triangle too then.. Are there many of us in the Herts beds and bucks region?

I'll have to see if I can get a chance to drop in and meet you. Gt Missenden isn't far from Luton..

If it helps at all Paul, you are not in the Irish Region, however with 4 members in this region, on the map we are "Its Complicated" we are open to poaching members from any other region. We cannot offer meets however if anyone ever makes it to our region we will fill them full of drink and chat/good company.

Thanks tulip, that's the sort of welcome I've come to expect from the Irish cell as I've never met anyone from Ireland that hasn't given me a warm welcome.. Even at the jae you welcomed me with a katana in one hand and a guided tour of the food and drink facilities :chinese: I'm sure I'll make the trip over some day in the not so distant future and I shall look you all up.. Ive a couple of friends over in Dublin that I mean to visit before I die lol.. Thanks again..

Hoo bloody rah! We also have Richard the club secretary in gt Missenden so that'll be three.. Welcome aboard bedzee! Looks like a meeting is in order shortly then!

Great news, will be collecting my Zed later this week, would be great to meet up NemesizX, see you soon mate !

  • Author

Where are you picking it up from bedzee? Is it on the road or a project?

I'll pm you my number you can give me a call or a text to sort a meeting.. I've got family in Wilstead over near Bedford so sandy is only round the corner really..

Just realised I can't pm a user that's not subscribed!?

However, as all the nuts that use the forum can contact me anyway and most of them are at the same sanity level as me anyway, I'll give it to you here.

07900887433 if you just fancy a chat or if I can help with anything just give me a shout. If I can help I will.

I'd advise getting a subscription to the forum sorted bedzee, there's a wealth of crazy people here that will be able to give advice on everything you'll ever need to know about the world you're just about to enter.

The knowledge here is worth a million mechanics and can save you getting to your wits end trying to work stuff out. They've helped me out no end. Worth every penny of the sub fee.

Hi Nem, nice one mate, i am amazed at how helpful and friendly everyone is on the site. I will subscribe for sure as the response and threads i am seeing takes all the concern out of investing in a 17 year old motor. I'm getting a recent import model, just waiting for the plates and i can finalize the deal and pick it up. I cant wait! Ive had a 260z and 280zx back in my youth and want to get the 300zx so i can enjoy my weekends with like minded folk and just enjoy a terrific classic car. Its stock except for the lights/wheels and that's the way im going to keep it. Its fast enough and looks the dogs so why re-invent the wheel? I am seeing so many lads carry out mods and i thought it would be cool to just keep it the same way its come out of Japan? Im not against improving the car, just don't want to distract from the original as quite frankly i love it just the way it is! I will drop you a txt just now mate and thanks for the welcome mate, cheers!

No problem bedzee, it's nice to have a local member! Apart from RichardSmith we are the bedfordshire massive lol..

As for mods mate, my car has had a few subtle ones but they were present when I bought it. The front bumper is an abflug type 4 which is a nice add on and doesn't scream space ship in the way that some of the veilside stuff does! Not sure what the skirts are but they too are subtle and it has a 99 replica spoiler. Other than the wheels that's it..

Oh of course I didn't mention the nostrils..

Previous owner fitted them and it's a bit of a mixed opinion on here.. Lol.. I quite like them, but there are some that would rather stab themselves in the eyes than have them.. Lol..

And the word gold, is disturbing the pigeons recently too Lmao.. Funkysi is still in meltdown over it!

As for the welcome, anyone who's committed themselves to the asylum should feel welcome.. We may all be crazy, but we're all crazy together! :taz:
