I was asked 'Andy can you illuminate in white the reverse light panel', i replied yes but you're likely to of spent money and are constantly getting your collar felt. I suggested what i have executed here.

The 300ZX is painted in white, just like the 99 spec one which is red, you can see it below against a 89 panel, it's actually an Altia one but does for an example.

I am not really going to divulge what magic is actually done but just the insides light up with the EL sheet and the white is not affected.

Customer wants lines to match the tail lights, so these are added at this stage .

Was that me that asked you to do that :)

Lines many years ago yes Dave, but this is recent and for a guy with a white zed.

I'll complete this panel tomorrow :thumbup1:.

I remember asking for lines in the centre panel which you expertly did for me.

I definitely remember asking for the 300 to illuminate in white though but you told me it could be done but not a good idea due to the old bill so I ended up having in it red.

I'll be sending mine to you soon hopefully... Still want mine in red though

Here we are all finished, sure when this is fitted we'll get day and night pics, looking forward to it .

Insides of the 300ZX we have the subtle red illumination but the fogs are bright :).

That's sweet!! How much does this cost?? My old light panel illuminates green, I thought the 99 Spec did this also in Red?? Obviously not, Was my old panel like this from standard?? I have a 99 Spec set of lights up at the Nissan Garage, won't be collecting them till nearer October:sad: will need these converted to the above.

Don't have four fogs Tom, they're a different brightness for a start, convert the tail lights back to stop tails.

Looking good imo, it's showing the fogs are plenty bright enough .

The 99 spec reverse light panel does not light up, i can however make it do so without changing the outward appearance.

You are lucky if you have a working green altia after all these years but again imo they look dated although the purist may still like them.

Was my green one an aftermarket rear panel so Andy??

Not really aftermarket but an optional extra, along with the kick plates and the 1/4 window lights, all were green, the reverse light panel was the most common of the 3.

Changing them back to stop lights is another winter job. Is that easy to do?

It should be obvious Tom on the tail light little harnesses to see where a wire as been severed/took off, not a winter job..................a 5 minute job !!

The fog light wire runs into the bulb holders on mine so can't see the connection. I've just remembered I've got 2 spare harnesses so easier to just swap them over.

I thought the 99 Spec did this also in Red??

It is red but not illuminated. I don't think any are originally.

Original OEM 99 spec panels do not light up as std from the factory. I don't believe Nissan have ever done one, only offered the Altia Green one as an optional extra.

BTW Tom that looks great on your car, finishes the back end off nicely. bet you love the cree reverse lights they are very bright.
