Battery Terminal Crimps

I'm planning to make a new battery loom or at least replace the top half for new

and I need to connect the old and new looms together with crimped butt joints.

 

Anyone have any experience with this ?

 

I've looked on the old ebay and say the following tool and also saw a video of it

in use so I know it should work but not sure how to measure the wire and get

the crimps needed.

 

Does any one know the sizes of the battery cable, is it 16mm and 10mm ?
