Hi guys,

I am a noob here, and am thinking of buying a 300ZX. What would be the normal price of a 1998+, manual twin turbo preferably Targa but not esential, Long wheel base, White or Pearl white? (I dont even know what standard colours are there but i prefer these)

Is there a difference in gear boxes? Are they 5 or 6 speed? (

Please advise,

Alek.

Price will vary wildly based on condition, and availability of a model like that won't be great within the UK. Mine was an import and came to just under €10,000 by the time it was in the country - 2000 LWB manual non-turbo R. It's in above average condition (for here, probably not for Japan).

All manuals are five speed, and all LWB are t-tops.

Hello Alek.

Have a read round this forum mate. There is FAQ style info here, but also someone will be along in a minute to link up some helpfull stuff for you.

You are after a very desirable car. You could get a great manual TT for 4 to 6 grand. A white one... late model :-/ could ve a long wait or top price.

If you buy one in open forum here people will speak their mind either "thats a good price" or whatever. Plus you will get a sound car and some history and support. :clover:

Welcome Alek, if you go into the "Newbies" section there is a Stickie at the top "Buying Guide" and a "FAQ" section also, these might give you more insight to what you want:thumbup1:

Thanks guys,

Will read some more info, however from what I understood the price for an example I described would safely vary between 6-8k depends on the condition? Would that be the UK on the road price or Japanese?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome.

As has been mentioned, there aren't too many 98+ cars about, you'll be waiting a long time to find a manual TT 99 spec in pearl white. I'm certainly not aware of any in pearl white of that year being over here actually.

I wouldn't limit yourself to that year either. Other than the optional HIDs, they are generally of a lower specification to the earlier models.

A lot of people say that, but other than NVCS I can't think of anything that I would miss!

I'd miss cruise control for sure as when I use my Z, it tends to go on quite long and mixed jaunts! :) I know that it was a seldom fitted option on later cars.

I couldn't live with a car without cruise control anymore, but that's just me. :)

Yeah I can imagine it'd be bothersome if you do a lot of motorway driving, but I've never had it on my own cars so can't complain really. I think it was still an option though except on the version R.
