Fuses. 1 in the engine bay on the right and 1 near the accelerator pedal on the side.

As for the idle thing. What have you done? Have you cleaned the throttle bodies, changed the fuel filer and air filters? This are a few simple things. Also check the throttle position sensor. Bet all this is strange to you. ;) People will explain more in a civalised hour. ;)

Hi Gavo,

I have had my 300ZX for about 1 month now and also faced the hesitation problems. Mine was born a TT but i have the NA engine in it now as the previous owner upgraded the turbos and blew the engine up.

Did you buy the car like this or was did this problem start after you bought it?

On mine i changed the Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs and cleaned and reconnected all the $hitty wires and plugs in the engine bay. It is a lot better now but still hesitates a little bit.

I think in your case to troubleshoot this, you should do all of the above minus the fuel pump. If it is still bad after that then go for the fuel pump aswell.

Some people over here also told me to change the alternator as mine is worse when the lights, A/C, radio are on. I dont know though.

Anyway Godd Luck and enjoy.

Cheers

I appreciate the help, the prob has always been there but i think at first i thought it might be just me (new car etc) but either i notice it more now or its worse one or other! any way i ive cleaned throttle bods, replaced air filter cleaned all electric connectors etc not tried the fuel filter yet tho. It spoils the enjoyment a little tho, i either have to pull away like a loony or risk people laughing as it dies n almost stalls, i wouldnt care if it was a nova or something that blended in but everyone stares at the bloody thing anyway !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gav,

Chreck as listed above my reply here the throttle bodies and TP sensors. I have mine cleaned out a week or so a go by Nissan.

The problem you are listing is exactly what I had. I had this done through advice from other members on here and it has done the trick.

No rough idle, no dropping off when pulling away. And a nice crisp response from the accelerator.

Ta chris, did u replace tp sensors or were they just cleaned too, also what cost, did it break the bank ??

Nissan only charged me 20+vat to clean and adjust the TP sensors and throttle bodies. Ive heard its an easy job, but these days I cant be arsed to get my hands dirty....lol...I let someone else have that pleasure now.!
