Since this has happened I have tried to 're do the TPS that actually does nothing now :( no change in engine idle

 

 

Light blue? the stock injectors are purple, end up turning brown on a TT and red on NA, they may be upgraded, which would also require a remap/chip to compensate extra fueling. If you have no chip or remap you will be over fueling and cause rough running.

Take a pic of the injector and post up

Thats the plug, need to see the injector and not original plug by the looks of it

Yeah that's what I thought I'll try and clean around it a bit and get a better picture more than likely standard .. certainly not anything I've changed.

Going on the crap on the injector & the mounting plate, that injector has never been removed.

Or if it has, it was a long time ago, also the Phillips head screws look like they've never been undone.

Maybe it's time to consider having the injectors serviced?

I hope the wire in the black terminal housing isn't indicative of the wiring on your vehicle.

Look carefully at the image, is that bare wire at the end of the insulation?

At a guess I'd say that's the fuel temperature sensor wire.

Yep most wires are like it hence I'm going through each wire and 're doing

Had the car 3 years now don't know who had it before they obviously never looked after it

Wiring & connection problems account for at least 90% of drivability issues.

I totally agree, this is a 27 year old car far from perfect and without a doubt it's been neglected throughout its life. Since ive had it I've spent thousands on it. Even then it will never be perfect as the list is endless. I do what I can when i have put some money aside and when I've time. Lovely cars though I prefer this than any modern car.
