So I had some new michelin pilot super sports fitted at the weekend and I thought I'd have the tracking looked at too, not that I'd had any issues with the steering.

They informed me that my tracking was way out and that they'd sort it out for me. Their first attempt had my car steering to the left quite severly, and after their second attempt it isn't much better. I just wanted some opinions on whether the before and after shows any significant changes in toe/camber, etc to warrant the guy telling me that my tracking was 'way out', because from my eyes it doesn't look that different from how it was! But I don't really know anything about tracking!

Thanks in advance!

You can't adjust the camber on the front unless you fit adjustable camber arms.

Unbelievable! I'd just noticed my front tyres are wearing on the inside edge so I wanted to know the camber settings (I have adjustable upper arms), and straight away somebody posts the complete list. Are you guys psychic or what?! :)

I knew you were going to say that. :D

You need to take comments by commercial outfits with a pinch of salt really.

They said "way out" so when they adjust it you will be impressed.

The guys who did mine said worse... "Country mile out mate" .. to which I replied...."I know thats why Im here for you to fix it"

Going back to your figures...

They have adjusted the settings that are adjustable on your stock suspension to within tolerances.

Thats why some of the figures have gone from red to green.

With stock tension rods you cant alter the castor and you do have a significant difference L to R. Well over 2 degreees.

You are running over a degree more camber at the front than Nissan recomends in the chart Gio has posted but as he has already said that is non adjustable on stock arms.

So IMO they have done a decent job as far as they can.

Many cars including the 300ZX are quite sensitive to small changes/faults in suspension settings which is why some members(me included) run fully adjustable after market suspension so we can each set our cars to our personal use/preferences. We will not all run the same settings so the debate can be endless....

But I don't really know anything about tracking!

No shame in not knowing but it can be quite rewarding to learn a little about it. Plenty of good info to be found on Internet or books on the subject.

The further bonus of the knowledge is you can tell operators the setting you want .

All IMHO of course.

The remaining 'reds' are most likely due to worn bushings.

Could be on the tension rod on the side thats out.?

Consistent all round excess neg camber might be due to the car being lowered?

difficult to know without seeing the car.
