Hey Guys, i know there have been posts reguarding this before but just want to clarify thing.

Both of my windows weren't working. After taking both of the door panels of the passenger side start to

work (must have been a bad connection) but the driver side isnt still working. The power amp seems to

work as when i press the window switch i can hear a ticking noise from the amp. I can control the passenger

window from the driver side so switchs are fine, so it must be the motor right?? any way i can test it?

Also my central locking isnt working and have read it might be the solenoid (where abouts isit located).

there was an alarm fitted before which packed in while ago, so do uses think it might have something

to do with that?

thanks

The power window amp is normally the culprit with dry joints at on the board at the plug terminals, there is a write up by JeffTT on this very subject.

Door solenoid is near the door catch further down the inside of the door, only two wires, so easy to trace.

Could have been cut for the alarm, so the key fob takes over the the door lock, looks like the feed to the solenoid.

Thanks for clearing that up for me :shifty:

I've just opened up the amp, soldering is intact for all the joints, you reckon it might be the motor thats causing the problem?

Quite rare for the motor to go, not unheard of but generally the window amp, might be worth getting hold of another before resorting to the window motor.
