I am sure 'some' know and some may have guessed that I don't actually have BBS LM fitted to my Z. Despite never advising that I actually have them, I also have never dispelled that! They are in fact replicas. There are a lot of differences and I can spot replicas a mile off!

The story is that I used to have a lovely set of 18" Advan Sienna 3 piece forged wheels. Alas, these were a bitch to maintain as they needed polishing after pretty much every wash and was partly the precursor to my fear of taking my Z anywhere near the rain (well, it's always been like that). The intention was always to get genuine BBS LM, but in the interim, I got some new replica wheels to tide me over for a while.

So these have been on my car for slightly longer than I'd have hoped as I've been waiting for the right set of genuine ones to appear. Now I didn't really have a budget, they would cost whatever they cost and was originally going to buy a brand new set. Unfortunately BBS have stopped making the LM in the 9" and 10" sizes @ 5 x 114.3 and are only now available in an 8.5" and 9.5" with our bolt pattern with a less favourable offset.

Well, I found a set of near immaculate ones in 9" and 10" in perfect offset (means I can wave goodbye to the spacers) on Japanese Yahoo Auctions, with the help of a Japanese friend in California, I've bought them!

Because of the size/weight (they come with tyres also), with shipping etc, they aren't going to cost much less than brand new ones without tyres. But you can't get this spec anymore from BBS so whatever!

The LM has always been my favourite wheel. It's one of the highest quality forged wheels you guy buy.

Anyway, my replicas with tyres will be up for sale soon and they are virtually unmarked with zero curbing. :)

Should be here shortly. Let's hope they're not banana shaped! I don't know how well they were packed and I don't know how much care was taken when handling them! NailBiter.gif

They look great Si. How do they look up close any faults?

There are some very minor imperfections, but generally, they're in great shape!

That's a negative sir. I need to replace the rear wheel studs with originals as I have lengthened ones as my old ones have 10mm spacers. The wheel currently sticks outside the arch, by 10mm (est). I also want to fit 295s on the rear wheels as they currently have 275s on them (I can't stand stretched tyres).

Fronts will be going wider too, probably to a 255, maybe a 265. I'll fit the current Goodyears on my old wheels as they're the same size and they'll go with their new owner. Time to get some replacement tyres! :)

Will you have any trouble fitting those tyre sizes?? I'm going to be looking for tyres for my Veilsides in the coming months, not sure whats going to fit in the arches?? 9 x 18 et36 fronts and 11 x 18 et 36 rears/

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated:yes: Also let me know how you fare on tyre prices / suitable brands etc.

No, no problems fitting the tyres. There's enough space (just)!

Your fronts, I'd go for a 245 35 19 (a bit of stretch, but with that offset, you'll need a bit of clearance).

As for the rears, God, no idea. You'll need to roll the arches most likely....

Right so! I'll have to do a bit of trial and error, Luckily for me the guy doing the wheel refurb also does arch rolling:thumbup1:

I've just bought an arch roller. I need to fettle the front slightly. I'd do the rears on mine myself (just the lips) and did a really good job. Might start doing it a little more (to others' cars).

Ha!! Get the practice done on everybody else's cars until you have it perfected!! I don't want to hear that you messed up that fine automobile of yours !!
