Hi,

Replacing an O2 sensor on the NA and took out the Driver side O2 sensor no problem, can I put in the new one, Can I ****!

Can't seem to get my salami style fingers into the space

Does anyone know of a way of putting them in, or do I have to jack the car up and do it from underneath!

Alternatively can anybody lend me their small child for mechanical apprenticeship!

I don't know an easy way exactly.. But if I can manage it with my hands, you must be able to as well.. :)

I do remember that I had to take some interesting approaches to it - and my job was made a bit easier by not having the plenum in place.. But you're best off cramming your arm underneath the master cylinder as hard as you can, and doing it that way.. They take ages to get the thread started though as it's all so rusty usually..

Hi Aaron,

My greatest fear is getting my arm stuck down there, then when people trap their limbs they swell up, then I have to ring my colleagues up to get me out!

Better do it before we go on strike again!

I think with the plenum removed it does make a difference, as a pipe I was considering removing to improve space was attached to the plenum!

I think my only option is to Jack it up, as I have no turbos to get in the way!

You wouldn't believe the places I've crammed my arms on this car and still got them out :) (and on my last two as well)..

Just have to leave lots of skin in there..

Thinking about it - I wonder if your O2 sensors are in a slightly different position, as there are no turbos..

And I bet the pipe you were going to remove was the EGR tube? That stays in place even when you remove the plenum...

Someone shouted "You can't drive that, you're too fat" at me today in the petrol station.. I think closer to the truth is, I can't work on these things because my arms are too fat.. :D

I need to transplant Duffers arms onto my shoulders :D

Mark, piss easy mate;) I borrowed the tool from AndyP then used a 12" bar.Now the TT was easy to do mate surely there must be more room in the NA?

Yeah I have done one on a TT passenger side, no Problems!

Now I get to do one on a NA drivers side and I can't even get my hands down there?

I bought an O2 sensor removal tool and it is too long and inteferes with the pipework, surrounding the O2 sensors!

I ended up buying a 22 mm crows foot spanner and that works a treat!
