How do i get an auto into neutral with no battery on the car.

Hi Folks

I find myself in an interesting/unusual/semi comical situation.

I have somehow managed to buy another 2 300zx TTs.

One is running and all is good, the other is probably a parts car.

Here's my issue and feel free to laugh as the humour of the situation doesn't escape me.

The parts car was put into a double garage when it was running about 8 years ago.

The only issue being it was put in SIDEWAYS!!!!

There is about 8 inches clearance at either end so was clearly a 900 point turn.

Car is an auto, no battery on it and the ignition barrel has been removed and a bit of a birds nest of wires hanging below the steering column.

I have a battery pack so I could get power to it, but is there a manual release anywhere near the gearstick so I could put it into neutral.

I don't think the wires have been cut below the column but not 100% sure.

Failing that I might be investing in some castors.

All help greatly appreciated as always and I think I have found the perfect smiley for me.

:stupid:

There's a press dowm little green tag at the front of the shifter just above the base where it disappears into the box in the car

Press that down with one finger or thumb and move the shifter with your other hand
