Just wondering is the price right and has anyone ordered something like these from abroad ?

I'd be wary, personally. The price is about £300 too cheap for a genuine new Sportster seat, and there are a lot of copies floating around these days!!

 

A lot of people aren't fussed whether they have an original or a fake but, in the event of a crash, I'd rather know that I was sat on something that'd been put together properly....

I'm not categorically saying that those in your link are fakes, Lee - I'm just saying I'd be cautious due to the price.

 

They could be factory seconds. Which means they'll still be genuine Recaro, but with some issue or other as to why they didn't pass inspection. Maybe a defect in the trim or an issue with the mechanicals. Without seeing them in person, you'd never be able to see if that was the case or not.

 

Generally, entry-level Sportster seats (trimmed in Ambla "leather" with nothing overtly fancy about their appearance) retail in the UK for a starting price of around £920 per seat plus delivery. Demon Tweeks and Sportseats4u both have them listed in that spec, which is the same trim level as the ones you linked.

 

Perhaps firms in Italy can buy them cheaper from Recaro themselves than UK stockists can? That'd surprise me, seeing as we're all in the EU together (apparently), so I'm still wondering how a non-UK seller can knock the thick end of £300 off the cost of a single seat and offer free delivery as well...?!

 

My money's on either replica seats or factory rejects, personally.

Excellent advice there and I would rather pay to re-upholster my originals and keep it oem looking for the cost.

Yeh they were good while they lasted but not as good as the real thing.
