I asked about doing an engine change and was told to buy a twin turbo as it's a pain to change them over

Depends on the person mate. It's not a days job that's for sure but it's only nuts and bolts and the end of the day.

You are more than welcome to have a nosey over my car to see exactly what you would have to accommodate. Unfortunately I'm not around this month.

Im doing an NA to TT conversion, but i do have a TT car as a donor, but swapping stuff over to the NA isnt without its issues.

However when my NA was running well, i had a full stainless exhaust from the manifolds to the rear, lightened flywheel, lightened single prop, lightened under drive pulley, lightened water pump pulley and a chipped ECU. air induction kit.

I would say it made it more lively and released a few hp that was getting bogged down with standard set up, but i wouldnt say it created a load more HP compared to the benefits of doing a TT conversion.

An NA is by no means slow and doing most of above will make it feel more spritely, but you need to weigh up the cost implications of both options.

Stripping it of weight will help but then you compromise comfort and noise if keeping it as a road car.

I put my tt engine in an na shell and kept the an rear end. It's an easier job than you would think and not sure that I would use the na diff again. It's better on acceleration but you do lose a bit of top end.
