Hi all, though I am selling the Z later this year, thought it would be a great send off to go to the ring. Been invited on a stag do which is a road trip including the nurburgring. So looking for any tips, advice or general help in the topic. Doing a few evening laps of the ring, then Austria, Switzerland then long drive back. Over 5 nights in June. Recon the cars up for it as it's done plenty of UK trackday, and 10 of the best a few times. Plus a good few UK road trips in the heart of summer. Quiet highly moded so Ok with the car. Unless there's anything special ya think I'd need.

And help appreciated.

Cheers

Danny

Good European breakdown cover. Only from personal experience avoid AA European as there service abroad is very hit and miss.

Ah that's good to know. Cheers. I get cover with my bank and think is with rac so I'll check that. Don't want to curse it but the cars bombproof.

Cheers

Danny

We did it with a group of lightly modified zeds, no problems apart from being overtaken a lot

The ring is corner after corner and very up and down compared to a uk track, blind summits leading straight into sharp corners etc and a lot of corners to remember. After 2 or 3 laps your just starting to remember some of it and regular users will always be faster, some of the porches and gtrs were so much faster than us.

Because it is only open to the public certain days it can get very busy, also it tends to shut a lot due to crashes and long queues can build when shut.

You can buy tickets for 1 lap or 4 laps

There is an on / off point half way round but only tickets bought at that point are valid there

Sometimes they en the way on to the adjacent track so you can get a lap ion that too

Sounds good, the more I read the more it excites me. Cant wait. What about fuel around the ring and Europe? Do they have vpower over there or do I need to take octane boost?

Thanks

Danny

you can get vpower (100RON) and 102 RON in Germany (near the ring also, last time I was there)

Ah, didn't know that about the octane boosters. Good to know. And reassuring to know I won't need then as the vpower is available over there. Thought it might be but wanted ti check.

Danny
