Central Locking

Featured Replies

Only from the Driver's door.

Although, any alarm fitter should be able to fit a full closure alarm with remote lock/unlock via key fob.

Button near the centre armrest to fold them in or send them back out again.

They work most of the time, at least mine do :D

They are manually operated from a rocker switch on the centre consul, next to the 4-way mirror adjust 'nipple', guess you could have it linked into the alarm but I didn't get that far!

Any other little gadgets i don't know about?

I thought the imports would have cc is it only the uk spec cars that have that?

Not all cars had cruise but I have it on my import and most UK cars seem to have it.

Some of the best 007 secret features:

HICAS rear wheel steering on TT's

Auto box selects Power mode for 10 secs when you boot it.

Aircon is temporarily switched off when you boot it to give more power.

Pulling the handbrake up 1 notch stiffens the rear suspension (not all cars).

Temp sensor near the interior light so it knows whether to warm your feet or the compartment etc

Lots of fault diagnostic modes built in.

I'm sure there are some more I forgot :D

If yours is a N/A, I think that CC was an option.

Check if there's a flare in the passenger footwell, if there is, and you value your passengers legs, my advise would be to bin it, if in doubt give it to your local plod and let them dear with it.

Off the top of my heads I can't think of any other goodies, oh hang on, what about those optional extras by Heckler and Koch...

LOL - Further to your email Alex

I was being serious!

In J'Spec cars a flare was kept in the passenger footwell for use in emergency situations. It wasn't there when I bought my car but the holder was. This indicates that the flare was cylindrical in shape and approximately 8" long and 1" in diameter.

I think you'll find that carrying these things around in your car infringes some laws in the UK, don't ask me which though, something to do with explosives I expect.

I had one in my car for about 3 years until someone (on here I think) pointed out that it was illegal. So, rather than throw it away, we decided to set it off.

I think you're supposed to scrape the tip on the ground to light it, but that didn't work (probably due to the age of the thing). Undeterred, we snapped the heads off 4 or 5 matches, placed them on the tip of the flare and lit them. That did the trick! ;)

It was quite entertaining and certainly better than just throwing it away.
