induction noise or boost leak?Used forum seach but...

I searched the forum about this but I am still in doubt.

Every time I get under boost there is a long hooting sound( like a distant ship horn) which lasts sometimes 5 to 10 seconds and disappears when I release throttle.

Performance is super otherwise.

My IC's were changed last week for bigger items.

I understand that the classic goose honk occurs in just the opposite circumstance,i.e when releasing the thottle. In my case my POP charger makes no noise at all.

Your opinions , please.

"Look no further, sir, you're leaking boost". Correct?

TT now at 17 psi(max)

completely decatted

sigle POP

mongoose

ECU by kempower

375 hp at flywheel (yesyes,I know you don't like this figure, but it's purely indicative :) :) :) ) with wheels still slipping on rolling road with 500 pounds ballast in trunk( and possible boost loss.)

A tiedown would have damaged the backboxes.

Mine sound like a long train horn when I'm slowly boosting. Runs fine otherwise. I never had the honk just the train horn.

I guess U got the same. Mine are original recircs.

Sounds like the Recircs v BOV's debate again!

F.T.

Yep. Had exactly the same sound, got far worse after upping the boost. Recircs totally had it. Swapped to Turbo XS recircs, all is now well!

bigroy,

1.where did you get the TurboXS bov , did you get a good deal?

2.Is your car completely cured of this dreadful sound? Or still some ocurrence in certain conditions?

3.Also , lymon reported severe hesitation with non- recirculating bov's at 120mph when slightly releasing throttle. Apparently it was so bad he re-installed the oem-recirculating valves.

What is your experience regarding this issue ?

Hope you enjoy the intercoolers :D

Regarding dump valves, i disconnected my recircs, and had Blitz units put on, did not notice much really in the way of a difference, except i was convinced i lost something in the way of responce, and have since reconnected my recircs/>?

Regrding hesitation i also experienced this.

Maby some new OEM recircs.

yes warren,

I noticed some slight improvement power-wise; but to me it is a engine safety issue really, and a building block for later upgrades, should need arise:D ( and money available of course)

cheers
