Hi Folks

The car I was after has popped up again and I'm wondering if I could ask you for some help and advice on it please.

The car looks great in the pictures but has come back on an HPI check as declared "Cat D Vehicle Damaged" in 1998.

It does shout off the page at me (mainly saying "buy me buy me")

I just wondered what the consensus of opinion is as to how much it is worth.

And also if anyone knows the car any further info would be great.

Any help will be greatly appreciated and exchanged for beers at a subsequent when I finally buy one.

Many Thanks in advance.

Assuming you wanted a standard(ish) looking Zed at the end of it:

Replacement bonnet

Replacement bumper

Replacement headlights

Replacement rear lights and panel

Two indicator blanks and one indicator required

Remove horrendous graphics (unless they're painted on)

Interior looks fairly mismatched, so you'd need to sort that out before it drove you crazy.

Repair any rot. All things point to it being a UK car so it's a decent chance that welding of some sort is likely to be needed.

On the plus side though, it apparently has a 6 speed 'box!! Hmmm.....

I am sensing a lack of love here lol

Plus points

HPI Clear

Dry stored for last 6 years

UK car

Manual

Negative points

Graphics (slight damage to wheel arch so good excuse to spray the sides)

Headlights (they can bugger off back to fiat as far as I'm concerned)

Can't see enough of the interior to make my mind up

Missing bits

Not sure about the wheels to be honest

You lot hate it

Other than that all is sweet

The only good point to that vehicle is someone else owns it & it's their problem.

Maybe the guys that "hate it", recognise it's lack of potential.

Keep on looking!

No MOT, no,nowledge on the owners part at all (remember the last car you viewed!!), knackered brakes and no real mention of the body or chassis condition!

I've updated your "negative" list for you ;)

It's your money, at the end of the day. If you want a project car, go nuts.

Lol

No Guts no glory and all that!!

Same as last time guys I will simply walk away if it ain't right.

But if she is solid then I might (MIGHT) think about it.

The guy lives down a private lane so I can run it up and down there.

Update to the plus side

You're all having fun taking the Mickey

I've bought many Zeds over the last couple of years in various states from shonky to supreme. If you're looking for a project, why buy one that looks atrocious to begin with? You've posted a link to a possible scrapper that hasn't seen the road for 6 years at relatively strong money. The opinions & views on the car will be fairly unanimous based on the pictures and information.

The red one you viewed was always going to be a 400bhp car, too :D

Yep you were all right lol

Paul Bailey was an idiot!

solid car sweet engine and gearbox, but the whole front end didn't sit quite square

Too many alarm bells!

Then I got sniped with 3 seconds to go on that nice silver TT on eBay - Damn!

Has anyone seen this one yet?

Too far and too much!

I am being a bit more sensible now I think

£6500 in the pot all told and still looking for a nice one

I will have one available with a freshly built engine and all work done by Jimmer/PowerZed and fully mapped & setup by myself. Depending on the spec you want, it will have a genuine 400-500bhp. UK manual TT in red.

Edit: With your budget, it would be possible to hit mid to high 500s, possibly 600bhp.

Alternatively, how about a SWB manual NA? Can be converted to TT of course.....

Catch me on my mobile tomorrow early afternoon. If I don't answer, please leave a message and I will get back to you ASAP :)

So I'm looking around eBay, as you do, when I come across a very familiar motor:

Genuine Nismo Z32!

No change to the blurb at all, but the price seems to have jumped up somewhat (from what I remember)!!

Still lol'ing at the "Nismo steering wheel and seats" quote as well... tempted to ask if they've managed to find the £15k of receipts...

Just had another look at the advert and counted 11 lies in the description!
