There's a car on there I'm thinking of importing - 1990, manual, silver (gay colour but never mind.. :D), no registered mileage so it could have been to the moon and back but, it's a manual, and I'd have spares from t'other car..

The car is Y220,000, which is about £1200, and shipping looks like about another £800, but has anyone used this company before? (http://www.tau-net.co.jp)

Presumably it turns up at the docks, I take it off, get it trailered somewhere, MOT, send everything to the DVLA with some cash and then insure it..?

Aaron mate, dont you have to pay import duty and VAT somewhere there mate? ;)

I also think you have to get it SVA'd(not to sure though as its a 1990).

The company seems ok I think they have a london branch office:

I hadn't really forgotten about that bit, honest.. :) I think with everything in and an alarm from our friend Bob, it'd be about three grand..

Unfortunately, buying a house is going to have to come first - so I'll pass up this car, and hope that another one comes along.. D'oh..

Hmm - Aaron Goodall, the guy even has the right name.. I take this as a good omen ;)

Cheers Trey

Now where did I leave my copy of Exorcism for dummies...

our zed came from tau-net, nice bunch of people, but 220,000 is pretty high for a 1990 with unknown milegae. Make Hiro an offer of about 150,000, he will either say yes or no, you will have to pay import duty and VAT, which is about another 30% on the shipped price, getting it FOB you dont have to pay ocean freight. Being a 1990 only an MOT will be necesary to get it registered. AFAIK they dont have a london branch, all the staff speak very good english though and are a friendly bunch, our mechanic just bought 3 cars from them, Impreza WRX wagon, Celica GT-four, and MR2.

That car you are talking about has been clocked, has had damage repair, and has been given the lowest grade there is, so its probably a knacker.

My dad goes on that site quite a lot, ill ask him to let u know if there are any more manual zeds on there.

Aha, cheers Clarkey - I knew I'd got the link from someone on here..
