explain what a fly wheel does??

It might be fuel I'm guessing:confused:

that's why I'm asking you lot:D

The flywheel is a big rapidly spinning chunk of metal attached to the back of the crank, and it's what the clutch makes contact with to transmit the drive to the gearbox.

It's also there to act as a kind of kinetic storage device - without a flywheel when you got off the throttle and disengaged the clutch, the revs would drop almost instantly to idle, the flywheel keeps it all spinning and lets it slow down gradually.

Gunk on the flywheel or clutch plate could cause judder, as the clutch will 'slip-grip-slip-grip-slip-grip' type thing..

Aside from that, does it judder as you pull away (as you engage the clutch), or as you accellerate, cruise?

it judders in 2nd and 3rd though only when i'm cruising

mind you my clutch isn't right as it makes a grinding noise in first

think that's a bearing...of some sort I forget which

Would that impact on the flywheel?

or is it new clutch time nnnnnooooo:( ???

Fueling!?

Tim

Definitely sounds unlikely to be the clutch or flywheel then, and more likely to be a fuelling problem..

Which unfortunately doesn't rule very much out..

I have been told by a reliable source, shall we call him 'Secret Squirrel'? to do a diag on the O2 sensors ;)

If all clear then at least you've eliminated one item.

Have you changed the fuel filter. I changed mine a few months ago and my car has been a lot better. Irratic idle went too. Also change your air filters may be a bad air flow.

You can get a fuel filter from Nissan. They should have it in stock.

Very easy to do.

Open your bonnet and there is a silver cylider just below it with 2 tubes in it. One at the back and one at the front. Thats it.

Unscrew the filter take off the pipes and put the new one on.

5-10 mins top
