May 31, 200124 yr Guys, I want 18's bad, But whats the choice ? Been everywere I can think of, TSW, BBS, OZ, and many more. Where did you lot get yours? I've even sent mails to there customer depts to get a choice of suitable models, absolutly no response at all. Been to the usual harry's & mots, "wot car are the for" " hugh wots that then - sorry mate". Tony, Craig, george and anybody else give me a number or site name to go on please, this is getting rediculous. In an ideal world I would find:.... 5 spoked, polished dished, ctr nut. Similar to a 355 GTO in 18's. C'mon guys give us some links. Thanks harve.
June 7, 200124 yr Vols make the best rims around, especially for this car.. if ievre had to replace my rims they would be volks definatly..
June 7, 200124 yr Does anyone know where you can get Volk from? I'm definitely mad for them wheels, V. nice indeed!!! Simon, I second that on the Supra front, I miss mine, only reason why I got rid was because one turbo just wasn't enough! Should have kept him and bought a Z but money was tight at the time. Shame really, coz what I paid for the Merc. is what I part ex'd me Supra for, swings and roundabouts...bummer! Who did your kit for you, I like that alot, especially the vents behind the doors. Tim ;-)
June 7, 200124 yr I put BBS RS11 18 in wheels on my car 81/2in front and 10in on the rear with SO2 tyres. Johnny at Grasshopper got them for me through Motorsport wheels. They look fantastic. I have large AP racing discs and 6 pot calipers. Bill Mullins Originally posted by harve: Guys, I want 18's bad, But whats the choice ? Been everywere I can think of, TSW, BBS, OZ, and many more. June 7, 200124 yr Hi Tim, I assume you don't rate the merc against the supra then?!!. They are nice but wait till you get your Zed back M8. You can sample some real performance then. I fitted the body kit myself. It was not the easiest of jobs but I had it done in two days. It then got sent to the body shop to be blended in and have those awful groove lines taken out the doors. They spent a few weeks doing this and gave it a full bare metal respray! End result, a superb and different looking Zed and an empty wallet. I don't think the pictures in the rides section really do the car justice. This is one machine you must see in the flesh!. Luke Borg at the Z Centre supplies these kits and fits them. He is very helpful and would be able to give you a price. I would say that I saved some money installing myself, well you have to try these things don't you!. If you have the money at some point go for it. There is nothing on the Isle of Wight that looks like it. A very individual looking motor down here. Since it was de-badged people keep saying it looks like a ferrari, Bloody Insult!!!. I don't suppose anyone looks at a ferrari and says it looks like a Nissan, Huh go figure! Give me a shout if you want any more info on the kit M8 Laterz Simon H
June 7, 200124 yr CheerZ Simon, appreciate the info. Merc. is OK for what it is and can hoof along quite nicely with a little heavy right footed persuasion. But nothing beats a turbo/TT, I had a race on the M6 with an Audi TT, I was in the outside lane and the motorway was nice and clear, hit 130mph but struggled to get anymore rapid acceleration, kept him at bay for a while but then he came past on the inside...felt gutted coz I whooped a Turbo TT in my Supra not long before I got rid, aswell as pissing on just about anything that would try it on. I am also ashamed to admit that not long after I got the Merc. I got my arse well and truly cained by a Toyota Camry V6, that depressed me more than anything. I'm not used to being on the receiving end! But that will all change when I get my Zanussi Twin Tub back...LOL! I like that name! Merc. is ok as a workhorse though and hasn't let me down since I got it and people still thing it's a nice car, plus theres Cossie in him, so cross breed! Tim ;-)
June 7, 200124 yr All these wheels are great untill you tell them what car its for. 10 mins ago I was in Auto XS in MK, 100's of wheels many of them breathtaking. When I told him the size I want & the car he hit the phones for 45mins. Then in utter dissbelief he gave me ONE yes ONE wheel to choose/look at I was nearly in tears! Its still D/Tweeks that can do the bis so far. Unless we can fit the 5 stud hubs from a BMW then the choice goes through the roof! Any ideas guys! One wheel from racing dynamics was orsome-but only for BMW & Audi fit. Perhaps one of you IT specialists can put a post of all the wheels that will fit our cars with a contact. I've picked so many and had a reply of sorry mate, nice mota' but this is all we do. OR someone start a link of wheel pics & contact No- then you can add to it as you stumble on them....Perhaps..!
June 7, 200124 yr Harve mate, Try here if you haven't already... http://www.performancealloys.com and http://www.alloys-r-us.co.uk Tim ;-)
June 10, 200124 yr Thanks for all your links and stuff guys, It still looks as if the BHP's get my cash, If only other manufactures made there wheels in 18 x Z fit! harve.
