Greetings guys :) im writing this post to ask you something, i really wish to have one advice.

Im on the edge of opening a business, an online e-shop about engines.

I have a big contact in japan and i can virtually buy at good price every single japan engine in every quantity, from an rb26 to a micra cg13.

But i have a big doubt in my mind, probably i need to move out of my country.

Here in italy is impossible to find japan engines, so this business will work, but due to a recent extreme tax increase they made impossible to own a sportcar, so everyone is selling his baby. (i need to pay yearly 1100£ tax for owning the z32, plus insiurance.)

I was thinking to move in your beautiful country and open my business there, but i dont know how is the car scenario in UK.

For your personal view, it will work something like this in UK ?

Thanks in advance guys! :)

The Uk car market is wide and diverse with many enthusiast clubs across the range of manufacturers, but I would expect that like the zed owners market most owners wouldn't look to buy a new engine but use the various trades and experiences of other owners and traders to sort issues out, that's the whole point of the clubs!

That said you may find a market in garages and general public, which might prefer to buy new rather than reconditioned, which is still a popular solution to car repairs over here.

As far as knowledge for you to set up a business in the UK, not taking into account any European trade policy's you may have to cross, a good start is this website which the government support.

Either way I wish you luck with your opportunity.

Thanks steve, ill read that infos!

Btw the engines are not brand new, they usually are used but low mileage and comes with tranny, ecu, wiring, turbo and everything else. Also i will sell them at the right place, nothing too expensive
