Hi running a 1990 tt with 426 bhp, love it and don't wanna go overboard but thinking of an inter cooler, iv heard if you front mount it affects cooling so is it worth just dropping a cooler in the original location any idea on power gains from this ? Also iv thought about weight saving, has anyone else done this? Eg removing rear seat maybe replacing heAvy electric front seats etc, any tips ideas be appreciated

What's the full spec of your car?

Front mount intercoolers are fine. I've witnessed exactly the same temps during countless 1/4 mile runs & dyno sessions as with side mounts.

The Z32 is a heavy, comfortable & stable car. If you want to make it less heavy (light is not a word synonymous with Zeds), you need to go all out and do it properly. Removing a few KGs of plastic trim isn't going to net any real world performance gains, but it will make the inside of your car look worse. Although every little bit adds up, it's not really worth doing for a road car IMO. I'm putting trim back in mine and I've just removed my carbon fibre seat for a pair of Series 2 manual seats.

Hi thanks for reply, I'm not 100% sure regards spec as I have not long owned it, I do no it's had updated turbos ,injectors and remap anything else I don't no. I have dyno'd printout at 426 bhp and I'm not after much more power to be honest if I can gain another 30 or 40 bhp without mass expense I will. Is a cone filter worth fitting I have fitted to certain cars in the past and it's made throttle response worse lol , I fitted cambelt last week not as bad as I expected

I swapped my intercoolers for uprated side mounts. I don't have any before and after figures, but it made a noticeable difference. Do you know that yours are definitely stock?

one more thing i have the common problem of oil pressure gauge all over the place , one min its up then not working at all, iv checked oil pressure with the oil pressure testing kit and its fine, i gather the sender is a common fault , iv lookled on the net and it doesnt seem an easy part to source, does any one have any contacts or no where i can purchase one thanks in advance

Removing the back seat saves a bit and changing the electric seats for lightweight seats on manual frames will save some too, not huge amounts but its a start. Slick Pete has a carbon fibre boot lid and plastic windows in his Track NA car so it just depends how far you want to go and how deep your pockets are.
