As far as I understand, new screens are available in the uk. I'm back in the uk for a bit in May and I'm intending to get the zed on the road. One of the main issues is that I need a new screen

 

Has anyone had one fitted recently, how was the cost , are they the right colour (it's an import swb 1992) was the service good?

Depending on whether your car is blue or not will depend on whether the screen will be blue or bronze.

 

Blue was fitted to ALL UK models, all JDM cars in sapphire blue and all 94+ cars. Blue is in stock in the UK and is between £160 and £180 fitted from National Windscreens. Bronze tint has a lead time on it I believe and pricing is higher.

Mine are bronze ( black car originally) I would have changed to a blue (all glass) but it's a shortie so not much chance of a good set coming up.

 

I've got a few months, hopefully that's will be enough. That price is much better than I was expecting

Yeah, good luck with that one! If you see any SWB in blue, NA or otherwise that you could buy as a parts car, then do it. SWB blue glass is rare as anything over here! You could get good used stuff from Z1 no doubt, but the chances of that rear screen making it across to the UK...hmmm! lol

 

Bear in mind those are prices for blue glass. I am not too sure what bronze is as it's only recently become available here. But do not under any circumstance go to Autoglass as you'll be paying 5x that (Autoglass repair...Autoglass rip off). National Windscreens are without doubt your best bet. They should be able to obtain bronze glass.
