What do you think about this engine noise? Not the whir of the tappets, but there is a slower more clunky tapping noise behind it (with a regular rhythm)

Done my best to record it, you can hear the clunking quite well even with the bonnet closed.

one thing ive noticed with my VH is my injectors are a lot louder than my old zeds. Maybe could be an injector if it defiantly isnt any of you belts or extremities of the engine.

 

Maybe pull an injector plug at a time and see if it disappears.

 

Edit: even easier just get a long screwdriver on the top of them all and see if one is considerably louder than the others.

I had to change an injector last month.

engine ran rough but did not make that sound!

Needs looking at, hope nothing too drastic.

Talk to jimmer. He is based in Bristol

Hard to pinpoint exactly, could be a number or combination of things. Is it down on power?

As he is local i would say get Jimmer to have a look if he can fit you in.
