As per the title, have we (as a club) ever considered having a stand at Japs North at all?

For anyone who's not familiar with it, it's a one day show held at Thoresby Park in Notts, usually in July.

There are plenty of clubs in attendance, such as Celica Club, the GTO Owners, various classic Ford clubs. I've gone the last couple of years and, last year, there was only me and one other Zed there!

There's various awards to be won (Show & Shine, etc) and it's a good little day :)

Any thoughts from anyone? Not sure if this is in the right place - Notts is classed as the Midlands, right? - but feel free to shunt it around if need be.

:)

Japs North in the midlands - go figure.

My thoughts are it's close in more ways than one to JAE, people will choose one ort tother and i expect JAE will win in the majority of cases .

But why should people only be choosing to attend one show in the year...?

Do some of our members lavish thousands of pounds on their beloved Zeds to only show them off in September?

Sounds likea good Event Si and if the REO for that area wants to run it then thats fine. Plus if the REO cant attend that one then there is nothing wrong with a member asking permission to stage a show.

We will have several shows this year so plenty of oppertunites to show your Z and JAE is usually our big one.

My belief is that the more shows in an area the better, you might not get record attendance at a particular event but the freedom of choice for people is good. Maybe some people are working over the JAE period etc. As Gary says send your REO a PM he might be unaware of that particular event, there not all very well promoted, if he doesn't know he can't know to arrange it.

Yes and yes - what they said......

Thing is, there can be many smaller, lesser patronised, car shows up and down the country; that the REOs may never be aware of.... However if any of those do catch the odd member's interest, then please do either PM your local REO - or post a thread in the regional events pages for your REO and other members within your region to see!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
