Ten Of The Best! TOTB14: 25-26th July 2015

Recommended Posts

It's about that time of year again when plans start being made.....

www.facebook.com/TOTBTenOfTheBest

Ten of the Best (TOTB), is a performance road car event run by Straightliners Ltd, aimed at finding the best all round car and drivers in Europe. Handling, top speed and a 1/4m drag strip are used to determine the best of the best, Ten Of The Best!

All cars that compete in our main road competition class are road legal, taxed, tested and insured. There is also a new "pro-drag class" for the ultimate drag specific cars. Many of the cars that compete at TOTB are modified, some to the extreme. Many of the entrants have built and modified their own vehicles, while others represent the cream of the crop from the Tuners and Garages that specialise in the types of cars entered to compete.

Points are awarded in each of the three events overall, making it extremely difficult to score points in all events, unless the car and driver are on top form!

The Pro-Drag class will have its own shootout final and trophy, with regular head to head runs during the event.

Individual classes are also used to determine class trophies:

FWD (front wheel drive)

RWD (rear wheel drive)

4WD (four wheel drive)

The teams who take part are also battling it out for the TOTB team Trophy, a highly contested piece of silverware.

Ten of the Best brings together modern high tech and high spec cars, along with high power retro classics, giving all a chance to show their prowess on the day. Entrants come from most of the UK and European car clubs and groups, along with individual entries and invited Tuner cars.

Ten of the Best (TOTB), is a performance road car event run by Straightliners Ltd, aimed at finding the best all round car and drivers in Europe.

I'll be there too Noel I've already informed the organisers we want to put a club stand on, details to follow.

Are you competing?

I'm going to be there Friday night, and try and make sure as many cars I've worked with are in as rude a health as possible. I want my name on a top 3 car this year :wack:

Still can't believe I had to map mine up the A46 & A1 on Sunday early afternoon last year. There'll be proper trackside support* for Turbonoz'd cars this time round, can't wait :D

*You'll need to be stickered up and you'll need to be fast though :2guns:

I'd like to take part, but can I go on the reserve slot, as wouldn't want to take a spot from a more competitive zed.

As above really, my cars still in bits after 4 years so July is a bit optimistic lol

NOTE I spectated on the Sunday and its a good day out, its worth it just to go see foresters car do a 8.65 1/4 :D

There are no "reserve slots"

If you pay for an entry you run....Simples:thumbup1:

If Noel or someone decides to do a team entry then whoever organizes a team can pick/not pick you. ..... thats a separate issue.

Im taking part like I did last year. Running an NA means Im not a likely candidate for a team entry.............

Matters not to me!!:tt2:

Sorry guys, won't be competing. The time has finally come to sell the Z. I'm hoping to be there for the weekend anyway to help support the club. It's a gutting situation having to sell but needs must.

So I'll be attending in an estate car of some kind. So if anyone needs stuff taking up there ,let me know.

Cheers

Danny

Oh OK thought it was all a team thing, in that case I'll definitely have a go. Maybe I'll bring my na too in that case...

It will likely be a Team 300zx.co.uk effort again, but I doubt there will be more than 10 entrants. Bob organised the team last year, myself the year before. My main interest for 2015 is actually having a competitive car for once and providing support, especially for Jaffa's car.

Is Bob doing TOTB again? Are you up for organising a team this time around?

I'm in Noel we just need to sort out mapping my car now.

Sure, just need to book it in when convenient for yourself :)

I've heard some terrible ideas before, but that one takes the biscuit!

Do you have to give them reg numbers? I'll plan to use the slicktop, but if it's not ready the na can come,

The deadline is 22/07/15 for car details. They are very accommodating, so if things are looking tight either way, I'm sure they'll be able to help.

I think it's a marvellous idea. Saves people running there cars in to the ground lol.

I've been debating on doing this for the last couple of years. I've been waiting ages to see jaffas car in the flesh

If I had my car mapped and boost controller and that done I'd seriously consider it... But don't want to risk any damage until then

People tend to pay for the priviledge, unless I'm sponsoring them of course

What's to debate? It's £35 for a weekend camping ticket, or £100 for a weekend camping ticket, entrance to 3 events on both days, plus weekend camping for a support vehicle & another person :D

I have a great pit guy, so I treat him to fuel & food!

Lol. Well, after having the car in a garage for 2 hours hunting for an air leak... I finally found it but I couldn't fix it as the garage was closing. To be fair though, the garage manager didn't charge me for using his ramps which is awesome.
