I am on my third replacement so far and can not get a decent unit where the cassette will play!

Anyone have one?

Here's a picture of what I am after.

Sorry bigh, looking for something in a bit better condition without any work needed.

Bit out of my price range also I'm afraid.

Thanks though.

Hey Redwine..... If you send me a unit I can have a look and see if I can refurb the mechanism for you??

Used to spend a lot of my time repairing head units.......

Let me know..... I owe you one from the advice while welding my Z up...... would be nice to return the favour.....

Hi Russ, That is a fantastic offer mate, one I might take you up on in the new year. I have a couple of things I have yet to try over the festive break with regards to swapping some parts of all 3 units with the hope of making 1 good one. Failing that though, I will take you up on you offer.

I am a stickler for originality and somewhat determined to get a fully working system.

After all, how am I going to play my 70's cassettes?

I have one in the garage, i,ll hook it up to a battery tommorow and see if i can find a cassette

Found it, looks like it might be the uk version.

Not found the loom for it yet, more garage tidying tommorow

Thanks for looking mate, and taking the time to put some pictures up. :thumbup1:

Unfortunately, it is a different unit to mine I'm afraid.

Sorry.

is this item still required??

Yes mate, it all depends on condition and price.

Ideally I need one with a known working cassette.

Having said that, I would consider a spares and repair unit in reasonable condition.

What do you have?

Referring to your first pic this looks the wrong type ?
