Hi, my drivers door speaker stopped working so took off the trim and accessed the speaker area. Got my multimeter and established connectivity on the lead back to the connector on the back of the stereo unit. I have put a working speaker (one of the rears) on the leads and no joy. So any thoughts why it wont work?

(Quick question, what sort of output should I see on the speaker leads, )

Andrew,

Yep checked the fad and bal, its not them. I decided to test the unit so I found an old one of mine, took my existing one off, plugged the old one in and hey presto.. bloody thing wont work!! found another one of mine, popped that in, and bugger, that ones broken as well.. I don't recall these being u/s but that's life.

Now this will get you guessing... put my one back in and What the F***!!! that one wont work now... Argh!!!

Put it all back together, so it looks good but doesn't work. maybe the 2 old units were okay but wont switch on like my "good" one, seems I might have some weird elec issue going on here...

Well this is a bit weird, whilst the radio isn't working neither is the courtesy light, also in the dash, with all the doors closed the "door open" light is ever so faintly on... now I know its not the fuse because its the same fuse as the clock, and that's okay.

Then after an hour or so I notice the clock not working, so now I check the fuse and its blown, replace with 10amp and everything is back to normal.. even the radio works, as I said, some weird sh1t going on...

so case closed.... for now.
