Anyone in the north east able to lend a bid of zed knowledge, im more of a honda/mitsubishi kind of man and this is my first nissan.

Basically i bought the car yesterday of a fella who used it once a year and garaged it the rest, the ecu is flashing code 11.

If anyone is local and fancies having a look at it for me that'd be excellent, i'll pay your juice and troubles ?

Kind of need it back up and running as the brother needs to use it while hes over from australia

Thanks in advance

Swapped the CAS and its still the same issue, no fan on ignition, and wont fire up but its turning over no issues.

Help?

I read somewhere on this forums after i searched that if the fan isnt coming on, then its a cas issue? I read that by someone called noz?

I took battery lead off after i fitted new cas for 5 mins then fit that back on then tried the car onve again, still the same and still code 11 on ecu

Where did you read that?

Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery doesn't clear the error codes. Take a look at this guide to ECU Diagnostics

(which includes error code 11). You may have cleared the fault with a replacement CAS, but the code will continue to be displayed until the ECU is properly cleared.

How to clear error codes is at the end of the guide. If you can get access to a PC based ECU diagnostics tool

the whole diagnostics process is a lot easier.

Valves are bent!!!

Whats a car like this worth with knackered engine?

Shells mint condition, interior mint condition.

Devestated!!! Only bought the ****er last week

J reg with a fecked engine?

You'd get more if you broke it.

As it stands, someone might me daft enough to give you £800 for it. Especially if they have a spare TT engine handy.

Not wanting to *&%! stir but I was in contact with the seller of this car and never quite trusted the car. The car looked under-used and advisories sat on the MoT history without being dealt with. I emailed about the cars details and looked into it but then I didn't email them about the car for about a week then I got an email from them boasting that they had sold it to someone else for more than they were offering it to me for and that it was the 'best car the buyer had ever seen' and generally gloating, why would someone in their right mind do that?

I didn't reply but when I saw this thread did reply and told them that the belt has gone, they replied to say that it was your fault for racing and drifting it and driving it wrong.

OK, I am stirring it, but the general message is that I would have a VERY good look over the rest of the car before you go throwing money at it, who knows what else is hiding away in there that hasn't been properly maintained.

Valves themselves aren't too expensive as long as the heads are okay...... My old NA bent valves but the heads were undamaged, not a scratch...... Guess I was lucky...

I got new valves from company based near ilford essex...... I think they were called ferrari's......?

Can't seem to find a website though......

Get the heads checked and see if they can be rebuilt?

At least when it is rebuilt you will have good heads, new head gaskets and a new belt..... as long as bottom end is okay you will have an good engine....??

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Was there any damage to the pistons?

Hi Andrew..... nope mine had hit pistons and left a mark, but not holed or cracked them......

Looks like mine was at low revs and was lucky it didn't do anything but the valves.... I think it did 3 or 4 valves.....

Hopefully Muzza will be lucky and it was at tick over and not too much damage done...... fingers crossed for you.....

Sounds to me like the previous owner didn't do the 60k service and belt change to me.
