Square or staggered tyre setup

Basically have got 10" wheels going to be fitted and currently on 265 all round but are pretty much on the legal limit, so wondering from people experience whether these cars handle better with a square or staggered setup? More concerned about grip and handling than looks (but wide tyre look cool as anyway :) )

Firstly, make damn sure those 10" wide wheels fit though! The rears you're likely have no problems providing the wheels are offset-friendly, but the fronts, that'll be a real squeeze and you'll likely have to do arch work, rolling, removal or modification of the liners etc. 265 on a 10" wheel is not an ideal fit either unless you're into all that horrible 'stretch' tyre look.

What specs are the wheels first off?

I personally like 235 on the front & 275 on the rear. 17x10 wheels.

Edit: 17x9 & 17x10!

Already test fitted wheels before buying, fit fine, slight scrubbing for arch liners on full lock with the 265, but apart from that was all okay, plus they were magnesium so can lift them with 2 fingers and were at ridiculous mates rates.

Plus wont be going mental low or ridiculous camber, more interested in getting as much grip as possible out of it.

And no im not a fan of mental stretch for the sake of stretch, I like a good balance of function and form.

Did think about a 245/275 staggered setup? Wonder if there is really much advantage going for a 245 over a 235 on a non track car?

You'd get a LOT of stretch on a 10" wheel if you were running a 245. Have you test driven with the wheels on? Or just test driven?

I have 245 on the front of mine, but my fronts are 8.5" wide. My rears are 9.5" and I'm running 275, but will replace with 285.

Yeah I realise there will be a good bit if stretch (google images gives a good idea) but it's not enough to annoy me (down to personal choice of course, but world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing!)

But again not set on anything, hence why i wanted opinions :)

Bit off topic but can you supply NIStune board with a mapping license for myself? Just it would cost me nearly £1k before fuel, accommodation and mapping costs to come down and get mine mapped when I've done my mods so been doing a lot of research and want to go down the self mapping route, so looking for someone to supply me with one.

Also is the new feature like anti lag, total injector multiplier and all that going to be available for the VG engine or is there no sign of that so far?
