just wondering if anyone knows of any software that will give you an accurate reading of how fast your pc is running. I used to know something called pc checker years ago which used to do the job........

thanks

Well do the 3dmark test

get it of madonion website

its the industry standard i think,

to give you an idea on mine i got a result of a little over 11000 3dmarks.

http://www.madonion.com/

3dmark will give you a figure for how the whole system is performing, if ur not into games then this will be poop cos its very graaphics card intensive, if that is a weak part of the system then this result wil be useless. SiSoft Sandra will tell you figures for your CPU, memory bandwidth, etc.. broken down.

3dmark is impressive though :)

If you need 3D mark and the latest version of Sandra Professional then email me your address and Ill get copies in the post to you tomorrow:)

The advice is good, 3D mark tests your system real good with the end figure giving an idea of your system and primarily your videocard's abilities (11000 that Warren mentions is a VERY good score:) )

As Clarkey says, Sandra will benchmark all of your PC - CPU, Hard Disk(s), CDRWDVDRW, Memory Bandwidth etc and it gives a useful comparison to other machines.

3d mark is freeware and Sandra aint.. let me know if you want them bud:)

cheers guys for the advice. I found one on Znet (I think it was called), which shows the basic system info I need. I'm not sure how accurate it is though

Thanks anyway,

Vijay
