Hello guys,

I'm putting together a new pc with an AMD Athlon xp2200 processor. The only thing is, when the machine boots it recognises the processor as Athlon xp1500+ ????????????

The only options I have in the bios to change frequency/voltage are:

clock speed spectrum - disabled

cpu/mem/agps's freq - 100/200/66

cpu clock ratio - default

cpu voltage adjust - default

I think these should be changed to:

cpu/mem/agps's freq - 133/200/66 or 133/266/66

cpu clock ratio - 12.5

Any ideas - I don't want to screw anything up :(

Cheers

Vijay

What motherboard do you have? You may need to update the bios.

it's a new main board - MSI MS6373 (v1.x) K7N420 PRO

So is it nothing to do with those adjustment I asked about??????

Cheers

No most Motherboards will have an automatic setup. If its not setup for automatic then do it. They manual setting nowadays are only for overclocking.

There you go. Bios update to allow AMD 2100+XP to AMD 2600+XP chips. ;)

Below is the MSI site where I found the bios update
