Just a general question!

Last Sunday coming back from Bromley I went past Parklangley Golf Club!

Cars are parked each side & all the way to the top of the road, which has a sharp Left hand turn at the top!

I get to the top & going into the bend when a 4x4 comes round the corner!:censored: I braked but not to a dead stop!:scared:

Although In my oppinion he was going too fast, it was only his stopping power that stopped us hitting each other.:sweatdrop:

So Why did Nissan put such poor brakes on the Z?

& I understand why so many want to upgrade them as I do over the winter.

Not sure they do? My na with new std brakes and new tyres stops faster then my tt with d2 fronts and older tyres, na is a non abs lwb, tt is an abs swb.

Was thinking of posting a similar thread, to see what others were finding with their brakes

Nissan didn't mate - yours are just worn out after 20+ years....

Plenty of posts on this; OEM brakes are very good when working properly. Get your callipers refurbed, change discs/pads/fluid for new, ensure the flexible hoses are in good order - and the brakes will be just fine:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

As Richard said.

I refurbished my front brakes after finding most of the cylinders seized.

The difference was amazing.

Well worth doing in my opinion.

Good pads as well - MJP's metallics are better than Nissan as are the ones I get from Eurospec (Pagid).

Don't know if anyone has fitted '99 brake system to earlier cars

Brake pedal effort has been reduced to provide a more refined braking feel by increasing the size of the brake master cylinder and changing the booster characteristics as well as the brake pad material.

But I can certainly confirm that '99 brakes on my NA are better than earlier ones (OEM). Having said that, brakes on my earlier S1 TT and S3 NA were fine and as has been said here should be fine as long as properly maintained.

I've got Tarox standard size discs with standard Brembo pads along with braided brake hoses and new brake fluid change, the brakes in my opinion work perfectly fine with me.
